Blitz and Barbeque
MOIRA CAHILL CAMOGIE BLITZ
The Annual Moira Cahill Blitz took place on Saturday the 28th of July last in Kickhams GAA field Dundrum. The day started with Twenty-two juvenile teams marching into Kickham Park behind a Bag-Piper and around the field with a blaze of colour from all the clubs. Twenty-eight teams in total from all around Tipperary took part in games throughout the day. Kickhams had four teams taking part, these were; U8, two U10, and the Junior Ladies. We were successful in all grades, with Sinead Hayes captaining the u10 and Niamh Slattery winning captain accepting the Moira Cahill Cup from Mr. Padraig Cahill in the Junior Tournament. Thanks to all the clubs who came and supported our tournament, thanks also to all the parents who helped out in anyway with teas and sandwiches for the teams. A donation will be made in the near future to the South Tipperary Hospice from monies made from the teas etc. The night was well celebrated after with a Celebration
Barbecue in the Venue, Dundrum House. A Big thank you to Brian Horgan who organised the signed Jersey an Hurley for our raffle also to Willie and Damien The Venue, Dj Butler of Butlers Centra, Ml Browne of Brownes Costcutters and Kieran and Michael Slattery for help with food and sponsorship. Thanks to all who made the Day and Night Entertainment such a huge success and well done to all!

KNOCKAVILLA COMMUNITY COUNCIL NOTES;
Upcoming events.
The Community Council will host a leisure walk towards on Thurs 8th Aug. This walk will commence at the Community hall and will take in some areas and points of historical interest around Knockavilla, and an informational talk will be given at these locations. The walk, which will be about 3 miles, will then end up back at the hall where refreshments will be served. A 5 euro participation fee will be collected which will go towards the development work planned in the hall. A similar walk is also planned for the Dundrum area in August. Further details will be available in the next few weeks.
The committee would like to hear from the public, any ideas or activities they would like to be organised in the hall over the winter months, to cater for both adults and children. The Council would be only too happy to provide the hall for any such events or classes which may be required. Please contact any committee member with your suggestions.

CRUMLIN HOSPITAL FUNDRAISER.
A fundraising dance in aid of Our Lady’s Hospital Crumlin will be held in Cahir House Hotel on Tuesday the 4th of September. Doors open @ 7.30pm, dancing from 8pm sharp.
