Senior Hurling.

Our senior hurlers were defeated by Carrick Davins in the O’Rian Cup game which was played in Kilsheelin on Friday last. The final score was Carrick 1-18 Kickhams 1-15. We are now into the dreaded relegation dogfight which has seen us paired with fellow West division side Aherlow in a must win game in Sean Treacy Park on Sunday the 12th of August. If we lose that game we are into last chance saloon territory and our reward will be a final match with the losers of Upperchurch and Holycross to decide who will drop to intermediate hurling for next year. We the officers of
Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams would ask all supporters, selectors, and players alike to put aside any negativity and to please pull together in this your clubs greatest need and help ensure that Kickhams maintain their proud tradition as a senior club in West Tipperary. That opportunity will present itself when we next take the field against Aherlow who will be equally determined to maintain their status, so a dog fight awaits but we know that our team are ready for an almighty battle and we ask all our supporters to please give them every bit of encouragement on the day.

Upcoming events.
The Community Council will host a leisure walk towards on Thurs 8th Aug. This walk will commence at the Community hall and will take in some areas and points of historical interest around Knockavilla, and an informational talk will be given at these locations. The walk, which will be about 3 miles, will then end up back at the hall where refreshments will be served. A 5 euro participation fee will be collected which will go towards the development work planned in the hall. A similar walk is also planned for the Dundrum area in August. Further details will be available in the next few weeks.

The committee would like to hear from the public, any ideas or activities they would like to be organised in the hall over the winter months, to cater for both adults and children.
