Co. Senior Hurling Championship.
Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams faced Kilruane Mc Donaghs in the Co. Senior Hurling Championship on Sunday evening last in Templetuohy. This was a very exciting game as two evenly matched teams battled to stay in the Co. Championship, playing against a strong wind in the first half our lads gave as good as they got and went in at6 the break  down just 4 points on the score Kilruane 0-12 Kickhams 0-8. Playing with the freshening breeze in the second half we enjoyed a lot of possession however we were guilty of a lot of missed scoring opportunities, misses which were to prove fatal as the final whistle approached, we were still only four points down with the clock ticking down, when Kilruane scored a goal that finally finished us off and we were beaten on the score 1-20 to 0-16. We now are in to the Seamus O’Riain cup where we will play Carrick Davins, probably this Friday night, check fixtures list for details. We would hope that our supporters would travel in force to shout on our lads at this vital game as defeat would land us into the dreaded relegation battle.

One sour note from Sunday evening was the behaviour of an over zealous gate steward who refused to allow our young water carriers access to the field, this was upsetting for all concerned and should not have happened. Common sense eventually prevailed and our young lads got the chance to do the job which they have done so diligently during the year and for which we are very grateful indeed.

Minor (A) Hurling.

Our minor hurlers though severely depleted through injuries put up a good display against a strong Clonoulty Rossmore team on Sunday last in Clonoulty. However they were unable to keep the hosts at bay and were beaten by 3-15 to 0-7. We now have to beat Emly/Sean Treacys in our final game which is fixed for this coming week, please check fixtures list for details.
