JUNIOR CO FINAL
Kilrossanty are champions.
We had a great win in the co final last Saturday against
Rathgormack. We started the game well and put rathgormack under a lot
of pressure which thankfully payed off with points from Ciaran
Keating,Jack Kiely, Owen Houlihan(4pts),James Whyte,and a Matty Kiely
goal. This gave us a half time lead of 1.7 to 2pts.In the second half
we knew it was going to be a different story playing against the
wind. This proved to be the case with rathgormack dominating the second
half for long periods which allowed them to score 6pts to kilrossantys
1pt from Oisin Doyle which left the full time score Kilrossanty 1.8 to
Rathgormack 8pts.In goal Dwane Kirwan can be very proud of not
conceding a goal in the championship all year. The full back line of
Jay Kirwan, Jamie Collender and Charlie Foley were solid all year
long. Half backs John Coade, Colin Dee (who played centre back after
Seamus Veale failed to make the game through injury) and James Whyte
played very well.Center field Ciaran Keating and Jack Kiely Covered
every inch of the field.Half forwards Eoin Houlihan,Oisin Doyle and
Paul Keating worked hard and got some great scores. The full forward
line of Fintan Walsh,Kevin Lonergan and Matty Kiely won nearly every
ball that was sent in and this set up a lot of scores and also
contributed a goal to our tally.Louis Mcdonald,Noel P Walsh and
Darrell Ryan worked hard for the team when introduced as subs. The rest
of the panel who unfortunately did not get to play on the day have to
be thanked for their efforts in training and matches all year with out
these players the junior would not be won.The team Manager Eamon Flynn
Selectors Brien Kirwan,Tom Keating and Pat Hayes must also be thanked
for their efforts all year. Thanks to our trainer Roger Power,First Aid
Maggie Tobin and to any one else who gave a hand all year.
