21st December 2011
The Club would like to take this opportunity to wish all its players, members, volunteers and supporters a very Happy Christmas and a Healthy & Happy New Year. Thanks for all the support and assistance throughout a very successful 2011 and we look forward to a seeing everybody again early in the New Year.
The new club calendar is still available. At just €5 it’s an ideal stocking filler and features full pictures from each club team from 2011 as well as both jubilee teams (1961 Juniors & 1986/87 Seniors) and the picture of the five trophy winning captains from the year just gone. They are available in various shops around the town.
The Club Christmas Newsletter is now available in print as well as online on www.kingscourtstars.ie It features a review on all the trophy winning teams this year as well as the Stars who featured on this year’s Ulster winning Cavan Minor & U-21 teams. You should be able to pick up a free issue in various shops/pubs around the town over the Christmas holidays.
After their successful opening match in the Northern Bank Ulster Minor Club Championship, O’Raghallaigh Gaels are back in action at 1.30pm on St. Stephen’s Day up in Belfast. This time there will be a huge step up in quality as they face Watty Grahams (Derry) in the Semi-Finals, who defeated Monaghan champions, Truagh Gaels, by 25 points in their opening match and also beat St. Eunan’s (Donegal) in the Quarter Finals.
A jam-packed night will see presentations to the Senior, Junior & Minor winning teams for 2011 as well as honouring the recent jubilee teams (1961 Juniors & 1986/87 Seniors) and I am sure plenty of other things on the night. Based on last year alone, a great night is guaranteed. Tickets will be available from all committee members shortly and are €35.
As the club’s only regular fundraising venture it is a vital part of the running of the club. We would encourage any club member, or parent of member , who is not already doing the lotto to please try and contribute to same if at all possible. Direct Debits for just €8 per month can be obtained of Pat Farrelly.
