Preparations are afoot for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade in Kilmaine village. The committee have set out additional entertainment for the afternoon. The parade starts at 2.30pm with assembly at 2pm.
There are terrific ticket prizes to be won this year; 1st prize – Charolais calf; 2nd prize – Cash prize of €250, sponsored by the Kilmaine Publicans; 3rd prize – €100 voucher from Walsh’s Centre; 4th prize – €100 Oil, sponsored by Peader Higgins, Ballycushion; 5th prize – sponsored by Cummin’s Hardware, Ballinrobe.
Tickets are €5 each with 3 for €10. Draw will take place on the day. Prizes to be won also for the float entries such as the Most Topical Float; Most Entertaining float; Best Vintage float; Best Heritage; Best Creative etc.
All kinds of entertainment are invited to take part in the afternoon from ceili dancing, to step dancing, to face painting, to poetry recitations, and of course a performance of the prize winning sketch ‘Three Lovely Lassies’
