League Semi-Final V Rhode

Edenderry Senior ladies bowed out of the league at the semi-final stage on Friday evening last April 6th away to arch rivals Rhode. This was a hard fought game with many of the younger members of the panel making a great impact on the game in particular wing back Shannon Farrell. Edenderry went in at the break with it all to do in the second half trailing by four points 1-2 to 3-3. Riona Byrne was unable to restart the second half due to a knock on the head and soon after Edenderry were dealt another blow when Aisling O’Connor had to be replaced due to an ankle injury. Edenderry fought hard and never game up. All five substitutes made a great impression when introduced. Rhode ran out winners in the end on a scoreline to 4-8 to 3-5.

Feile Collection

As part of our Feile Fundraising campaign we held our first outing in conjunction with the boys Bord na nOg committee on Saturday last in the form of a bucket collection in the town. The day proved to be very successful and funds raised will be used towards the very worthy Feile cause which is being held in Offaly and Laois this year. Well done and a big thanks to the parents and young ladies who stood throughout the day in the town with their buckets. Special mention to chief coordinator Bernie Gorman who organised things expertly on the day. Our next Feile fundraiser will be a race night which will be in Byrnes Oak Wood Inn on Saturday May 12th – a date for your diary.
