Bride rovers ladies football &Camogie report

Briderovers 6-7 Aghada 0-2

Our u14s girls played Aghada in The Semi final of the championship on Monday night last in Aghada .After a delay of nearly an hour the game got underway and great credit to all the players for the display they gave on the night after hanging around for so long. We have a very small panel of players nineteen in total counting the injured Rebecca and great credit was due to Lauren for playing on the night when she was  feeling very much under  the weather in saying that one wouldn’t have know with the display she gave on the night. Erin opened the scoring with a great long range point her first of two on the night .Jennifer followed with a great goal following a great passing movement involving Eva Trish and Mary and a point before Aghada responded with a point .Chloe finished the scoring with a great goal again another great move involving herself and Katie, and Katie followed with a point to leave us ahead 2-3 to a 0-1 at the interval. We started the second half very strong and Claire who had done and excellent job marking Aghada’s danger girl Hannah in the first half covering every blade of grass continued to mark very tightly and got great assistance from Shannon Sheehan.Aine our goalie had a quite first half with little to do and thankfully the same was for the second half but it must be said what work she had to do she did excellent and her kick outs were dead accurate reaching our centre field players. Aines work was made easy thanks to the excellent backs she had in front of her Shannon Mullhall totally dominated in the full back position and Dayna Cliona Margaret Lauren and Shannon doing great work. Up front our centre fields and forwards were dominating completely our youngest player Meg was a thorn on the side of the Aghada defense right throughout the game winning great ball and distributing great passes to the rest of the forwards. Trish scored a cracker of a goal followed by a point from Erin and appoint from Jennnifer.Margaret had to be substituted due to a leg injury and was replaced by Karen .Mary then moved into the full forward position and soon had her name on the scoreboard scoring a great point followed by a cracker of a goal .Carmel was introduced and played her part in this great win. Karen was denied by the upright with a rasper of a shot, Jennifer added another goal and point, Chloe another goal and point and Mary a goal with Aghada once more only scoring one point in the second half. We now await the result of Carrigtwohill and St Colman’s to see who we play in the final. Scorers Chloe 1-1 Erin 0-2 Jennifer 2-2 Trish 1-0 Mary 2-1 Katie 0-1
