Ladies Club Round-Up

November 8, 2018

Bride Rovers Ladies Football & Camogie Club

Our u14 girls were at home to Millstreet in the league/championship on Sunday last. After been beaten by Killeagh in their last game the heads were down but after a slow start they got more into the game and what had earlier been a sluggish affair turned out to be a nail biting thriller with the girls giving it their all with our goalie Rebecca having a stormer between the post .All of our backs Shannon Lauren Cliona Dayna Sonya and Brianne on her first game back were in top form. Mary and Trish did Trojan work at midfield and up front Jennifer as usual covered every blade of grass well assisted by Katie Erin Megan and Carmel. Chloe was back to her old form with some great scores and Shannon Sheehan had a superb game for her first camogie game with the club .We introduced our younger subs Aine and Margaret at a late stage in the game because they had just played an u12 game and showed great commitment to turn up to the u14s. We were so unlucky to loose by a point in the end. The final score Millstreet 3-3 Bride Rovers 2-5

Our Scores Chloe 1-3 Trish 1-0 Jennifer 0-2

On behalf of the club a special mention to Clare Murphy one of our young footballers. Claires commitment to the school of excellent every Saturday morning at 9 o clock from last November with two of her clubmates Jennifer and Rebecca paid off when she was selected on the Cork u13 development panel .At present the team are training a various venues around the county in preparation for a number of blitzes during the Summer months. We in the club wish Claire well and look forward to see her in the red jersey for many days to come.

Well done to Jennifer Cahill who lined out for the Cork u14 footballers on Saturday night last against Waterford in Dungarvan for their second championship game. Cork won comfortably on a scoreline of 6-17 to 2-3 Jennifer contributing 2 great points. It was great to see all the Rovers supporters on the Day. Cork now plays Kerry in the Munster Final on the 23rd May. The next day out for our supporters is May 2nd when Jennifer Barry lines out with the u16 team in a championship game against Clare at a Cork venue yet to be decided.
