Ladies Clubs Notes

Cork 3-14 Galway 3-6
 
On Sunday last in Fermoy the Cork Senior B ladies football team recorded a comprehensive victory in The Aisling Mc Ging Memorial  All-Ireland semi final against a strong Galway side. They now face arch rivals Dublin in The All-Ireland final on Sat 22 nd August venue and time to be confirmed. Our congratulations to our two club players Grace and Eleanor who played a huge part in Sundays victory ,Grace scoring two great points and was unlucky for two more that hit the cross  bar. This is the first year for the girls at senior ranks having started there intercounty careers at u14 level and having enjoyed many successes on the way up, we hope they will have there first senior success in two weeks time .Congratulations to Kathleen Kearney who is a selector with the team and who has been with these girls all the way up and as become a second mother to a lot of the girls.
 
  
Our u15 girls have had two great wins in the u15 East Cork camogie 9-a side championship in the last week.Played in the small pitch  a goalie three backs two centre fields and three forwards it is an unusual formation but one our girls adapted to quite easily.We played St Catherines in the first match and won on a scoreline of 6-6 to 2-3 Scorers Jen Cahill 2-1 Chloe 2-1 Jen Barry 1-3,Mary 1-1.In our second match we played Sars and were missing Jennifer Barry but still recorded a fine win 3-9 to   4-1 ,our scorers Chloe 1-4,Jen Cahill 1-2,Trish 1-1,Mary 0-1 and Katie 0-1 Well done to the girls who played two great games we now have Carrigtwohill  and Watergrasshill to play  Team Rebecca Howard Eadaoin Cashman,Shannon Mulhall,Brianne Bartley,Jennifer Barry,Jennifer Cahill,Chloe O Flynn,Erin O Keeffe,Mary Hazelwood ,Katie Connor,Trish O Sullivan
