LADIIES GAA FOOTBALL NOTES

November 7, 2018

Under 6, 8 and 10 girls
Well done to our under 6, 8 and 10 girls who enjoyed playing challenge games against our close neighbours Fethard on Sunday morning in Anner Park Cloneen. The girls were joined by the under 6 boys, which led to a busy and active morning in Anner Park, with over 70 children participating. It was a wonderful morning’s football, by all our younger players and lovely to see so many family members turn out to support the girls 😊

For the under 6 team we had five players, who all played some great football: Mairead Keane, Éabha Browne, Nell Cleere, Niamh Flanagan and Emily Casey.

For the under 8 team, there were thirteen St. Patrick’s girls playing: Abbie O’Brien, Leanne Casey, Rachel Kelly, Molly Cleere, Aoibheann Sugrue, Claire Fitzgerald, Rosa Vespa Pontez, Kate Corbett, Judy Kelly, Kara O’Dwyer, Rosie O’ Brien, Zoe Duggan and Kate Flanagan.

The under 10 girls gave a committed and a determined performance in a game of two evenly matched teams. There were some lovely passages of play and every player gave their best and a very enjoyable and fun morning was had by all. Under 10 team:
Abbie Ryan, Lucy Power, Matilda Molloy, Abbie Slattery, Ailise Fitzgerald, Ami O'Brien, Niamh O'Brien, Verona Madigan, Lucy O'Brien, Ella Corbett, Dawn Moroney and Siobhán Hogan.

Our thanks to Fethard for attending with all their teams 👍. Our under 8 and 10 girls are back out in action again next Saturday 19th August in the Munster under 8 and 10 girls football blitz being held in Ballyporeen. Time to be confirmed!

Under 14’s
Commiserations to our under 14 girls who came up against a very strong Templemore side on Saturday past in the Division Two under 14 County Summer League semi-final in Clonmore and got beaten 3.21 to 0.6. They put in some great performances throughout the summer league and can be very proud of their achievement of getting to the county semi-final.
