Limerick FC presents plans for future of the Club

November 7, 2018

Limerick FC held a press conference today in Thomond Park to announce the signings of striker Denis Behan and midfielder Joe Gamble. The announcement of the signings formed part of a presentation by Club Chairman, Pat O’Sullivan, on the future direction of the club including plans for the development of the Markets Field in time for the 2012 season, an overview of Underage Player Development and Community Programmes and details of the ongoing Third Level Talented Footballer Scheme.

Speaking at the press conference, Pat O’Sullivan, Chairman Limerick FC, stated: “I am delighted that such high profile players see the potential that this club has to be a huge success both on the field and as importantly, off the field within the local community. We had a number of goals at the start of the season that are now coming to fruition.

“Firstly, we wanted to secure the Markets Field as a home for senior soccer in Limerick, which we have now been able to do due to the kind support of JP and Noreen McManus and the LEDP. Between now and the start of the 2012 season we will be installing a new floodlit playing surface at the Markets Field, renovating the existing Stand, installing dressing rooms under the stand, upgrading the existing Bar, opening a new Club Shop, new Club Offices and a Club Museum.

“We will also continue to expand and develop our underage and community programmes, develop further our Talented Footballer Scheme along with regional Third Level Institutions and hopefully achieve our on-field ambition of gaining promotion to the Airtricity League Premier Division.”
