Lorrha completed a superb comeback to secure a semi-final place in the North Tipperary Intermediate Hurling Championship. See Match Report.

Junior A: Lorrha 3-9 Roscrea 1-5
Lorrha kept their hopes of a Quarter Final place alive with a good win over Roscrea in Moatfield on Sunday evening. Two first half goals from Eoin Gormally put us in a strong position and we took a 2-5 to 0-4 lead to the break. Roscrea threatened a rally after converting a penalty but a Willie Hough goal confirmed the win.

Next game v Kildangan in Puckane on Friday evening, 24 August at 6.30pm. Lorrha need a win or a draw to secure a quarter final place.
Under 21: Lorrha defeated Kildangan in the quarter final of the Under 21 B Hurling Championship with a 1-14 to 1-9 win on Tuesday evening in Ballinderry.
Minor Hurling: Lorrha 1-22 Borris-Ileigh 1-11
Lorrha booked a semi-final against Kilruane after overcoming Borris-Ileigh in Moneygall on Wednesday evening last.
Lorrha were slow to get going but when we did, the scores flowed with Brendan O’Brien bagging Lorrha’s goal after about ten minutes. In fact the entire forward line got themselves on the score sheet in the first half as Lorrha took a 1-13 to 1-5 lead at half time.
With the game all but decided, the fare in the second half was not as competitive but Lorrha were never threatened and eventually recorded an eleven point win.

The Semi-Final v Kilruane is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 9 September as the curtain raiser to the North Senior Hurling Final, which is scheduled for Sunday, 9 September. Nenagh take on Borris-Ileigh in the other semi-final.
Under 14 Hurling: The Under 14 Hurling semi-final was refixed for Monday evening last. News next week.
Lotto Meeting: A meeting of all Lorrha GAA lottery sellers and draw workers will take place in the GAA Clubhouse on Wednesday, 29 August at 9pm. Anybody who wishes to become involved in the running of the lottery is also more than welcome to attend.
Parish Golf Outing: The Lorrha Parish Golf Outing takes place on this Saturday, 25 August in Birr Golf Club. Tee-times are still available from 8.30am to 1pm. This year’s captain is Deirdre Lane. Entry fee is €30 and the timesheet is in operation from Tony Coen on 090-9747972
Poker Classic: Thomas MacDonagh’s Gaelic Football Club of which Lorrha are a part of are holding a fundraising Poker Classic in The Western Pass, Ardcroney on Friday, 14 September. €30 to enter and €10 buy backs.

Old Time Dancing: Our Old Time Dancing continues in the GAA Clubhouse on Friday night to the music of Midnight Melodies. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
