Lorrha GAA News for 10 April

Lotto: Our jackpot reached a record high of €17,450 this week. Thanks to everyone who is supporting our lotto, which is the clubs main source of fundraising. With the jackpot currently high, the number of players is growing by the week, particularly online on www.locallotto.ie where it is easy to play the lottery every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

Membership: Thanks to all who registered as members for 2010.

Support Your Club: If you are a Vodafone customer, you can now support Lorrha GAA club by signing up to Vodafone Support your Club for free. At no cost to you, 5% of your monthly bill or top-up will go directly to the club. Club members and supporters need to register at www.supportyourgaaclub.ie

Senior: Last weekends league game against Cappawhite was postponed. All attention now turns to the North senior championship opener against Burgess on this Saturday in Cloughjordan @ 3pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors

Junior: The junior hurlers league game on Monday last was postponed. Next up is a home game against Moneygall on the weekend 17-18 April.

U21 Hurling: Because of the U21 football final replay, the U21 hurling game v Toomevara was postponed on Saturday and is likely to be refixed for weekend 17-18 April.

U21 Football: Hard luck to the footballers who lost out 1-7 to 1-5 in the North Final Replay to Newport on Bank Holiday Monday. Thanks to the players and mentors for their efforts.

Minor Football: Our minor football game against Borrisokane has been postponed due to the U21 replay. It has been refixed for Moatfield on Thursday, 14 April @ 6.30pm.

U16: The Under 16s lost out 3-2 to 1-5 to Ballina in the opening round of the championship last Wednesday. Next up is a game against Kilruane MacDonaghs in Moatfield on Monday @ 6.30pm.

U14: The U14s play their second game against Shannon Rovers Gaels in Ballinderry on Thursday, 8 April at 6.30pm.

U12: Last Fridays game against Shannon Rovers Gaels was postponed but was refixed for Tuesday, result next week. They also have a game against Templederry in Templederry on Friday next at 6.30pm.

Indoor Hurling: continues in Rathcabbin Hall on Friday night. Training for Under 8’s at 7pm and Under 10’s @ 8pm. All are welcome.

Cúl Camp: This years Lorrha GAA Cúl Camp will take place on the week of 19-23 July.

Tipp Draw. All outstanding money from 09/10 is to be paid asap. New draw is starting in early May. A meeting of club promoters will be arranged shortly.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of Frank Nelson. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
