Lorrha GAA News for 10 March

Membership Registration Night: There will be a registration night held at the Clubhouse on this Friday night from 6.00 – 7.45pm where membership for 2012 can be paid with the closing date of March 31st approaching. All an encouraged to sign-up before this date as it will count towards our Tipperary ticket allocation later all those that sign up before the end of March will be entered into a draw for 2 Stand Tickets to the All Ireland Hurling Final. Adult Player – €50; Non-Playing Adult – €30; Students & Minors – €20; Juveniles (16 & under) – €15; Family Membership (2 Adults & 2 Juveniles) – €80. Each additional child is €10 each. Membership is payable to registrar Tadhg Nevin or online on our club page on www.locallotto.ie

Car Draw Fundraiser: A Fundraising Car Draw will take place on St. Patrick’s Night, 17 March. Top prize is a Volkswagon Polo (kindly supplied by Al Hayes Motors, Portumna) with second and third prizes of 42” and 28” Flat Screen TV’s. There will also be a 28” Flat Screen TV as prize for the seller of the ticket for the car. The Promoter that sells the most tickets will get €150 and voucher for The Thatch Cottage, Ballycommon.
The Draw will also be part of a Social Night in the Clubhouse where the senior hurlers will be presented with their Division 2 League winners medals for 2011s.
Tickets are €20 each or three for €50 and are selling well. Tickets can be bought from any committee member or can be bought on online on our club page on www.locallotto.ie.

Lotto: Numbers drawn last week were: 2 – 3 – 20 – 26. No Winner.

Senior: Lorrha have been drawn with Cappawhite (away), Kilruane (home) and Holycross (away) in the First Division of the Co. League which is set to get underway on St Patrick’s Weekend, against Cappawhite.

Under 16: Lorrha will get their football campaign underway on Sunday next, 11th March, against Silvermines at Dolla @ 11am. Games follow against Templederry (home, 17 March); Shannon Rovers Gaels (away, 31 March) and Portroe (home, 2 April).

Under 14: Lorrha will commence their campaign on 28th March away to Shannon Rovers. Lorrha also have games against Burgess, Borris-Ileigh, Portroe and Templederry.

Under 12: Lorrha will commence their football campaign on 23rd March, away to Portroe. Templederry, Ballinahinch and Borri-Ileigh are also in the group.
Training continues in the Sports Hall, Moatfield on Tuesday evenings from 6.30-7.30pm.

Under 8: Training continues on Friday in the Sports Hall, Moatfield @ 6.45pm. Children must wear runners, shinguards and helmets.

Well Done: to Aaron Hogan, Eoin McIntyre and the Portumna Community School team that won the Connacht Colleges Senior ‘A’ Hurling title.

Sports Hall or Function Room booking: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilties which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.

Gym: Our gym is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7.00 to 9.30pm and on Saturdays from 12-3pm. Gym cost is €3 per session for all club members and €5 per session for non members. There is also a special class on a Thursday night for those who wish to train at a slower pace from 7.00-8.00pm.

Tipperary GAA Greyhound Fundraiser: Tickets are available from Shane Brophy and Tony Coen at €10 for the Tipperary GAA Greyhound Buster Race fundraiser which will be held in Thurles Greyhound Stadium on Sunday evening, April 1st following the National League game between Tipperary and Cork.

Old Time Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Dermot Lyons. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
