Lorrha GAA News for 11 July

Golf Classic: Our Golf Classic in Birr Golf Club takes place this Friday, 10 July. What better way to start Munster Final weekend than with a round of golf. There are still times available by contacting Michael Liffey 087-2578370 or Tony Coen 087-6219639. Teams of 4 are €220 while hole sponsorships are €100. We look forward to seeing you there.

Senior: Our seniors retained the division two league title with a strong second half performance against Moneygall on Sunday. Score: Lorrha 0-19 Moneygall 1-11. See Match Report.
Our next senior game will be in the first round of the Seamus O’Riain Cup against Cashel King Cormacs on Sunday week, 19 July in Templemore @ 7pm.

Junior: The Juniors lost to Kilruane 2-21 to 1-6 last Monday. We cannot qualify for the knockout stages but have one final group game against Silvermines in Puckane this Saturday @ 7.30pm.

Minor: The Minors cam from behind to beat Shannon Rovers Gaels in Ballinderry on Friday evening. The sides were level at seven points apiece at half time but the home side made a better start to the second half but Lorrha fought back and goals from Michéal Lambe and Bob O’Brien helped us to a 2-15 to 1-14 win. Next game v Templederry will be played on 16-17 July in Moatfield.

U16: Lorrha begain their campaign against Portroe in Portroe this Friday @ 8pm.

U14: Lorrha were beaten by Shannon Rovers in their latest game in the championship last week. They take on Burgess in Moatfield this Thursday @ 7.30pm needing a win to stay in contention. .

U12: The Under 12’s lost to Shannon Rovers Gaels in Ballinderry on Friday last. They next travel to Ballinahinch on Friday evening with a 6.30pm throw-in.

VHI Cul Camps: The Lorrha GAA VHI Cul Camp takes place this year between 20-24 July.

Munster Final: Best of Luck to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary Senior & Minor hurlers in this Sundays Munster Final.

Courses: Last year, the club purchased a defibrillator for use in emergency situations and anyone interested in taking part in a course on how to use it can contact William Harding on 086-8062341. Anyone interested in taking a physio/masseurs course can also call William Harding for further details.

Lotto: The numbers drawn on 29 June were: 1 – 2 – 7 -18. No Winner.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing resumes on Friday night to the music of Unity. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
