Lorrha GAA News for 11 September

All Ireland: Congratulations to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary team on their AllIreland senior final success over Kilkenny on Sunday. It was a proud day forthe club to have a player starting in the final and once again, Lorrhainvolvement was crucial in the downfall of Kilkenny in an All Ireland Final.

Once the celebrations have abated slightly,attention turns to next Saturdays All Ireland Under 21 Hurling final betweenTipperary and Galway in Semple Stadium @ 7pm. Best of Luck to Patrick Maher,Ciaran Haugh and Ken Hogan (manager) and let’s have a double to celebrate onSaturday night.

 

Senior: Theseniors O’Riain Cup Quarter Final against Nenagh Éire Óg will take place inSemple Stadium on Monday night next, 13 September @ 8pm.

The seniors continued their build-up to thegame by taking part in the Kilmacud All Ireland 7’s. Lorrha defeated Torreen(Mayo) in their first game before going down to Murroe/Boher (Limerick) andCarrigtwohill (Cork) and failed to progress from the group.

 

U21: The U21‘A’ semi-final against Kilruane MacDonagh’s has been deferred to a later date.

 

Minor: Theminors take on Newport in the ‘B’ Hurling semi-final on Wednesday (tonight) inToomevara @ 6.30pm. Best of Luck to the players and mentors

 

U16: Hardluck to the Under 16’s who went down 1-13 to 1-10 to Nenagh Éire Óg in the ‘A’semi-final last Saturday. Trailing by seven points at half time, Lorrha showedgreat spirit, heart and skill to fight back and closed the gap to one but werenot able to level. The effort was superb and little more could have been askedfor. Thanks to all the players for their effort throughout the year

 

Lotto:The numbers drawn this weekwere: 9 – 14 – 16 – 25. No Winner.

The Lucky Dips were:Eamonn Smyth, Eamon Fitzpatrick, Barbara Harding, Declan Houlihan and OliviaClancy. The Promoters prizes went to Ken Hogan, Madeleine Maher and The Ferryinn.Our jackpot has reached a record high of €20,000.The jackpot cannot go any higher so it will remain at €20,000 until it is won.If it rolls over, the new jackpot will be rising by €150 per week.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of Pat& Ritchie. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
