Lorrha GAA News for 12 March

Membership: is now due. €40 – AdultPlayers; €20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/College Students and Juveniles(with match ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (without match ticket entry).Closing date for membership is 31 March and people are urged to do so by thenas figures collected on this date will count towards our allocation ofTipperary tickets later in the year.

There will be a registration night in Moatfield onSaturday, 26 March from 8 to 9.30pm.

 

Lotto: Our jackpot now stands at€7,750. Thank you for your continued support.

Youcan also play our lotto online at www.myclubfinances.comwhere it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

 

Senior: Due to a bereavement inthe Templederry club, the Hogan Cup semi-final was postponed on Sunday. It willbe rescheduled later in the year. This Sunday sees the start of the CountyLeague with Golden/Kilfeacle travelling to Moatfield for a 3pm throw-in

Thedraw for the North Championship was made on Friday night. Lorrha will open upagainst Kildangan on weekend 9-10 April with games to follow against Burgess,Kilruane MacDonaghs, Toomevara and Moneygall.

 

U21 Football: Lorrha will take onShannon Rovers Gaels in the North semi-final on Saturday next, 12 March inBorrisokane @ 2pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors.

 

U21 Hurling: Lorrha will take onKildangan in the first round of the Under 21 ‘A’ championship in Borrisokane onSt. Patrick’s Day @ 12 noon.

 

Junior: The juniors will take onBorris-Ileigh (away) in the first round of the league on weekend 26-27 March.Ballina, Kilruane MacDonaghs and Moneygall are also in the group.

 

Minor: Training continues inMoatfield on Wednesday night @ 8pm sharp. Lorrha will play Nenagh Éire Óg inthe first round of the Minor ‘A’ Football towards the end of the month.Ballina, Inane Rovers and Burgess are also in this section.

 

U16: Training on Wednesdaynights in Moatfield from 7-8pm. All players to attend. The U16’s begin theirfootball campaign against Toomevara (away) on 19 March with games to followagainst Borrisokane (home), Shannon Rovers Gaels (away) and Silvermines (home).

 

Under 14: Training continues onFriday evenings from 6 – 7pm.

TheU14’s begin their football campaign with games starting on 30 March. Burgess(home), Silvermines (away), Toomevara (away), Templederry (home) and ShannonRovers Gaels (toss for venue) is the schedule.

 

Indoor Hurling: for Under 8’s continuesin Lorrha Hall on Friday evening from 7- 8pm. U10 & 12 training in LorrhaHall on Fridays from 6 – 7pm and on Tuesdays from 7.30 – 8.30pm. 

 

Tipperary Clubs Draw: The final draw of the2010-2011 Tipperary Clubs draw took place on Friday last. All coordinators areasked to collect all outstanding money for the draw before registering membersfor the 2011-2012 draw which will begin in May.

 

Photo Gallery: Further to the ongoingdevelopment of the new clubhouse facilities, the committee are looking atsetting up of photo gallery of current and past Lorrha teams and Lorrha playerswho played with Tipperary over the years.

Weask that anyone who would have photos in their family photo albums relating toabove would wish to share with the club. The club will make a copy of yoursubmitted photo and return original to you.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancingcontinues on Friday night in our newly extended function room to the music of MidnightDynamo’s. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.

 

Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club wouldlike to sympathise with the Hough family, Whitehall on the sudden death ofSeamus Hough who passed away last week. Seamus played for Lorrha upto minorlevel and also won a North junior hurling medal in the 60’s. Living in Dublinfor much of his life, he was always a loyal supporter, attending all seniorgames and also supporting our Golf Classics in recent years. He was afforded aguard of honour by the club at his funeral in Lorrha on Sunday afternoon. Mayhe rest in peace.
