Lorrha GAA News for 13 March

Lotto: Thanks to everyone who is supporting our lotto, which is the clubs main source of fundraising. With the jackpot currently high, the number of players is growing by the week, particularly online on www.locallotto.ie where it is easy to play the lottery every week.

Membership: Closing date for membership is fast approaching on 31 March. New GAA rules mean all membership must be paid by that date.
€40 – Adult Players; €20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/College Students and Juveniles (with match ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (without match ticket entry). All membership is payable to registrar Tadhg Nevin, Glenbower, Rathcabbin, Roscrea. A reminder that only fully paid-up members can enter the draw for Tipperary tickets later in the summer.

Support Your Club: The club are making a major push this month to get as many Vodafone customers within the parish signed up to the scheme. If you are a Vodafone customer, you can now support Lorrha GAA club by signing up to Vodafone Support your Club for free. At no cost to you, 5% of your monthly bill or top-up will go directly to the club. Club members and supporters need to register at www.supportyourgaaclub.ie.

U21: Lorrha travel to Borris-Ileigh this Friday @ 8pm needing to win to book a place in the ‘A’ Football final. Best of luck to the players and mentors.
The U21 Hurlers will play Burgess in the first round of the championship in early April.

Senior: Lorrha will play Burgess in the first round of the North Championship on weekend 10-11 April. Also in our group are Roscrea, Toomevara, Templederry and Borris-Ileigh.
Lorrha will play in Division 1 of the Co. League, which begins on Sunday 28 March against Portroe in Moatfield. Also in our group are Cappawhite (away), Kilruane MacDonaghs (home), Moycarkey-Borris (away), Loughmore/Castleiney (home), JK Brackens (away) and Kildangan (away).

Junior A: Lorrha will play Templederry (away), Moneygall (home), Kilruane (home), Kildangan (away) and Burgess (home). Games to begin in late March.

Minor Football: Lorrha will play Borrisokane (home), Shannon Rovers Gaels (away), Ballina (home) and Portroe (away) in this years ‘B’ championship. Games to begin in late March.

Indoor Hurling: Training for U8’s continues in Lorrha Hall on Friday night at 7pm sharp and for the U10’s at 8pm.

U12 & 14 Training: U12 & 14 football training continues this Friday in Moatfield @ 6.30pm. All players to attend. All players must have their membership paid before the championship starts.

Colleges: Hard luck to Ciaran Hough and Cian Hogan who were both on the NUI Maynooth team that lost out in the Ryan Cup semi-final last weekend in Galway.

Club Shorts: An order is being put together for a new batch of club crested shorts. Shorts are €17 each and orders must be with Shane Brophy by Wednesday, 10 March.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of J&S Sound. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
