Lorrha GAA News for 14 April

Social Night & Car Draw: Congratulations to Owen Kennedy, Newtown who is the proud owner of a 1.2l Volkswagon Polo for winning the Lorrha GAA Car Draw. His brother Michael was winning promoter and won a 32 inch Flat Screen TV.
Tommy Deely, Lisgreen, won the 42 inch TV while Brid Connolly, Killeen, won the 32 inch TV. We would like to thank everyone for supporting the draw which made it an outstanding success as well as the 83 promoters who sold tickets.
The senior hurlers were also presented with their 2011 County League winners medals on the night. Thanks to all who helped out and prepared food for the night as well as Ray Kennedy for providing the music

Senior: Our seniors got their championship campaign off to a disappointing start with a poor performance in a 1-23 to 0-8 defeat to Burgess on Sunday. They have to get that game out of their system quickly with our next game against Toomevara in Cloughjordan on Sunday evening next, 15th April @ 6.30pm when we will hopefully see a much better performance.
Minor Football: The amalgamation of Lorrha & Shannon Rovers (Lorrha Rovers) first outing against Nenagh Eire Óg in Nenagh on this Wednesday, 11th April at 6.45pm. Their second game is against Moatfield on Wednesday, 18th April in Moatfield @ 6.45pm.
Under 16: The U16’s defeated Shannon Rovers in their second game on Monday last week last, 2-11 to 1-9. Their game against Portroe due to have been played on Easter Monday failed to take place.
Under 14: Last Wednesday’s scheduled game against Burgess failed to take place. Lorrha travel to Templederry for their next game on Wednesday (this evening) at 6.30pm
Under 12: The U12’s made it three wins from three with a big win over Borris-Ileigh in Borrisoleigh on Good Friday. Lorrha host Ballinahinch in their next game this Friday, 13th April @ 6.30pm.
Cúl Camp: This years Kelloggs Cúl Camp will be held in Moatfield between 16-20 July. More details to follow.
Gym: Our gym is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7.00 to 9.30pm and on Saturdays from 12-3pm. Gym cost is €3 per session for all club members and €5 per session for non members. For further information, contact Graham (087-9610002), Tadhg (087-4125642) or Sean (087-3643031).
There is also a special class on a Thursday night for those who wish to train at a slower pace from 7.00-8.00pm.
Gymnastics in Moatfield: Midland Artisitic Gymnastics Club training every Monday and Wednesday evening from 5-6pm. All are welcome.
Sports Hall or Function Room booking: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities, which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
Social Dancing: resumes on April 13th to the music of Pat & Ritchie. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
