Lorrha GAA News for 14 March

November 8, 2018

Tony Reddin RIP: The club would like to thank everyone who played a part in any way to mark the passing of Tony Reddin last week.

There was no shortage of people willing to make themselves available to help with the grave, parking and stewarding and we thank you for that, particularly the Holmes, Kennedy and Moran families who made their farms available for parking. Also to the teachers and pupils of Rathcabbin National School who provided a guard of honour in the village last Wednesday, keeping alive Tony's memory into the future, and finally to all those who took part in the Guard of Honour to Bonoham where friends and colleagues from Tipperary, Lorrha, Mullagh and St Rynagh's came together to see Tony to his final resting place.

A minutes silence was observed prior to Lorrha's senior game with Templederry last Sunday while Tipperary will remember him at this Sunday's National League game with Kilkenny in Thurles.

To his wife Maura, sons Eamon, Dermot & Cathal, daughters Catherine, Jacinta, Majella, Collette, Brenda and Noelle, we express our deepest sympathies. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.

Senior: Lorrha lost 4-11 to 1-15 to Templederry in the opening round of the Senior Challenge Cup on Sunday morning. Lorrha led 1-10 to 1-4 at the break after a good first half but a dreadful start to the second half in which we conceded three goals in five minutes saw us fall behind and despite battling back, we couldn't recover to get the win.

Lorrha will now play Moyne-Templetuohy in round 2B of the competition in Moatfield, this Sunday, 15th March at 11.45am.

The schedule of games for the County Championship have been confirmed and Lorrha will play Loughmore-Castleiney in the opening round, likely to be on weekend 5 or 12 April. We will then play Killenaule and finally Eire Og Annacarty.
