Lorrha GAA News for 15 January

Adjourned AGM: TheAdjourned AGM of Lorrha GAA Club took place on Saturday evening last. MadeleineMaher, Padraig Madden, Declan O’Meara and Donal Brady were all elected as jointVice-Chairpersons while the role of Treasurer has yet to be confirmed. MichaelLiffey was elected as Asst Secretary.

Membership rates remain unchanged for 2011 and a high uptakeis urged as it will count towards our allocation of Tipperary tickets later inthe year. 

For Tipperary tickets in 2011, the procedure remains thesame where for all-ticket games which are sell-outs, tickets will be drawn foramong all fully paid-up members.

 

Juvenile AGM: TheAGM of the Juvenile club will take place on this Saturday, 15 January at 8pmsharp. All those involved in teams from Under 8 to 16 over the next year areasked to attend. New people willing to get involved are also welcome.  

 

Committee meeting:The January meeting will take place in the Clubhouse on Saturday next, January15th @ 6pm sharp. All committee members are requested to attend.

 

Medal Presentations: TheMinor hurlers and U14 footballers will be presented with their North medals inthe GAA Clubhouse on Saturday, 29 January at 8.30pm. More details next week.

 

Membership: Membership for 2011 is now due. €40 – Adult Players;€20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/College Students and Juveniles (withmatch ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (without match ticket entry). Closing datefor membership is 31 March and people are urged to do so by then as figures collectedon this date will count towards our allocation of Tipperary tickets later inthe year.

Coaching Courses: A Foundation Coaching course for Tuesday 25th andThursday 27th January will take place at a North Tipp venue. 

An Award 1 Coaching coursefor February 10th, 12th, 16th and 19th at a North Tipp venue hasalso been confirmed. Anyone interested in taking part should contactcoaching officer, Ken Hogan.

 

Tipp GAA Calendar: Aspectacular 2011 GAA Calendar has been produced by the Friends of TipperaryFootball with all Tipp teams in both hurling and football over the past yearfeaturing. The calendars are free when you purchase a membership of the Friendsof Tipperary Football which costs just €20. You are also entered into a drawfor a top cash prize of €2000. The calendars can be purchased from PRO, ShaneBrophy (0876989612).

 

Old Time Dancing:Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night in our newly extended function roomto the music of Catherine & Images. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.

 

Sympathy: LorrhaGAA Club would like to sympathise with the Hogan family, Derry on the death of MariaMcClearn, Portumna who died last week. May she rest in peace.
