Senior: Lorrha will JK Brackens in the first round of the County Senior Hurling Championship and the game will be played in Moneygall on Sunday, 16th June at 12.00pm. Please come and support the team in this important game
Junior Hurling: The Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship is due to get underway on weekend 22-23 June with Knockshegowna first up later in the month with games against Burgess, Kildangan and Borris-Ileigh.
Minor: Lorrha will play Clonakenny/Moneygall in round 1 of the Minor ‘B’ Hurling Championship in Moatfield on 3-4 July. Shannon Rovers and Templederry are also in the group.
Under 16: The U16 ‘B’ Hurling Championship will get underway on Monday, 1 July when Lorrha travel to Portroe.
Under 12: The U12’s suffered a heavy defeat to Borrisokane last Saturday. They also took on Silvermines last Monday evening, news next week. This Friday, Lorrha travel to Cloughjordan to take on Kilruane MacDonaghs at 7pm.
Congratulations: to Lorrha/Redwood National Schools on their superb County Final victory over Rossmore NS in Semple Stadium, Thurles last Thursday on a 5-10 to 5-9 scoreline.
Tipperary: Hard luck to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary Senior hurlers following their Munster semi-final defeat to Limerick on Sunday. Well done to the Tipperary Intermediate hurlers on their semi-final win against Limerick
Hard Luck: to Ronan O’Meara who was on the Roscommon team which lost 3-20 to 3-16 to Donegal in the Nicky Rackard Cup final at Croke Park last Saturday.
Tipperary Clubs Draw: Thank you to all those that have subscribed to the 2013-2014 Tipperary Draw which began last Friday night. We had no luck in the first draw but with eleven more to go there are plenty more chances.
The Gathering: The Club will be hold a Gathering in the GAA Centre on Friday, 21st June from 9.30pm as part of the Lorrha & Dorrha Heritage Festival. We will be holding a reunion of the 1983 Lorrha Intermediate Football and Under 21 ‘B’ hurlers, 1993 Minor hurlers and 2003 Junior ‘B’ hurlers, all of whom won North titles in those years. This is a parish social night where everyone is invited. Music by DJ Ray.
Cúl Camp: This years Kellogg’s Cúl Camp for 6-13 year olds takes place in Moatfield from 15-19 July. The cost remains the same as last year: first child – €55, second child – €45 and third child – €40. Places in the camp can be booked on line at www.gaa.ie/culcamps. Promotional packs of Kellogg’s Cornflakes and Rice Crispies feature a unique code, which can be used by parents online to receive a €5 discount.
Gym Membership: (All rates are inclusive of club membership rates above) Adult Players – €150 (€50+€100); Non-Playing member – €150 (€30+€120); Student – €100 (€20+€80); Family (2+2) – €200 (€80+€120); Non club member – €150. Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Dermot & Irene Ring. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Admission €8 with refreshments served.
