Lorrha GAA News for 15 March

Lotto: Next Monday's Draw, St Patrick's Day, will take place in The Friars Tavern, Lorrha at 9.30pm.

Senior: Lorrha host Clonoulty/Rossmore in the second round of the County Challenge Cup in Moatfield this Sunday, 16th March at 11am.

Under 21 Football: With the Ballina v Shannon Rovers Gaels having been postponed last weekend, out game with Ballina is in doubt this weekend. Check North Bord fixtures for confirmation.

Under 14: The U14's begin their Football Championship campaign on Wednesday, 2nd April against Portroe in Moatfield

Under 12: The U12's begin their football campaign against Burgess in Moatfield on this Saturday, 22nd March.

Respect Games: Well done to Daniel Madden who played in the Respect Games at half time during the Allianz Hurling League game between Tipperary and Clare in Thurles last Sunday.

Membership: is now due and thanks to all who have paid so far. Rates were also confirmed with all inclusive of Gym membership: €90 – Adult player; €50 – Minor/College student; €30 – Non-playing Adult (+€70 extra for gym membership for 12 months); €20 – Juvenile (16 and under); €90 – Family (2 adults and 2 children, capped at €100 for three or more children).

All adult and juvenile players need to be insured before they take part in games to be covered by the Players Injury Scheme. The closing date for all membership is 31st March; with all members then being entered into a draw for 2 All Ireland Hurling Final tickets. Membership can be paid to club registrar Louise Mannion or can also be done online at www.locallotto.ie

National Draw: Tickets €10 each are still available. There will also be an in-club fund for those who buy their tickets for the draw from the club. Tickets are on sale from club officers and all the adult players. Your support is appreciated.

Club Gear: Orders are now being taken for specially designed Lorrha GAA Club gear, designed by Masita. Images of the gear are on our Facebook and Twitter accounts. Windbreaker Jacket – €40; Rain Sweatshirt – €30; Tracksuit top – €30; Polo-shirt – €30; T-shirt – €25; Gear bag – €30. All gear is available in all sizes and is ideal for supporters to wear and also a presents for Lorrha friends and family overseas. Orders can be made by contacting Secretary Shane Brophy 0876989612. Closing date for orders is Friday, 21 March as a bulk-order has to be submitted.

Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw: Well done to Mick Carroll, Rathcabbin, who won €500 in the March Draw which took place last Friday. This brings to €2100 won in prizes by Lorrha Draw subscribers this year. We ask all promoters to keep their subscribers up to date as we come towards the end of the current draw.

Camogie: Well done to the Camogie Club on their successful Mock Wedding held last Friday night at a packed GAA Centre.

Best of Luck: to John Madden (selector) and the Portumna hurling team in the All Ireland Club Final against Mount Leinster Rangers on St Patrick's Day.

Social Dancing: continues in the GAA Clubhouse on Friday night to the music of the Moynihan Borthers. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.

Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the O'Meara and Dooley families on the death of Martin Dooley, Borrisokane, who died over the weekend. May he rest in peace.
