Lorrha GAA News for 16 September

Senior: Hard luck to the senior hurlers who were defeated 2-19 to 2-16 by JK Brackens in the Seamus O Riain Cup quarter final in Cloughjordan on Sunday evening. A three point lead at half time was insufficient in the conditions despite goals from Patrick Maher and Cian Hogan. Thanks to the players and the management and backroom team for their efforts this year.

Junior: The Junior hurlers are through to the semi-final with one game to be played against Moneygall in the coming weeks.

Under 21: The under 21 championship due to begin against Silvermines has been put back to Sunday 24th September.

Under 13: In the first round of the Plate, the U13's play Ballinahinch/Templederry this evening (Wednesday) in Moatfield at 6.30pm. Next Monday they host Kiladangan in Moatfield at 6.30pm. The game against Shannon Rovers has been deferred to a later date.

Under 11: The U11's hosted Kiladangan in Moatfield last Friday and won 5-3 to 1-2. This Friday they play Borrisokane in Borrisokane at 6.30pm

Tipperary Draw: The Club enjoyed a bumper night in the Tipperary GAA Draw for September hosted by Knockshegowna last Friday. Congrats to Richie Bourke who won third prize of flights for two to Australia or €3,000. Tony Coen won the promoters prize of €200. Also Beibhinn, Caoimhe & Muire Kennedy, Rockview, won €200.

The next draw takes place in October. Thanks to all who take part in the Draw.

Fundraiser: The club has launched a 2500-to-1 fundraising draw with a prize fund of €10,000. We have 2,500 tickets valued from 1 cent to 2500 cents (€25) and when you accept to take a ticket, you scratch off a hidden section and the value in this section is what you pay for the ticket, it could be 1 cent, €25, or any value in between. All tickets bought will be entered into a draw in late September for a top prize of €5,000 with eleven ther prizes ranging from €2,000 to €200. Your support would be appreciated.
