Lorrha GAA News for 19 March

Membership: is now due. €40 – Adult Players; €20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/College Students and Juveniles (with match ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (without match ticket entry). Closing date for membership is 31 March and people are urged to do so by then as figures collected on this date will count towards our allocation of Tipperary tickets later in the year.
There will be a registration night in Moatfield on Saturday, 26 March from 8 to 9.30pm.

Lotto: The numbers drawn this week were: 1 – 4 – 6 – 23. No Winner.
The Lucky Dips were: Nora O’Hara, Tom Kennedy (Kilgask), Mike Hough, Bridget Deane and Jack Gleeson. The Promoters prizes went to: Martin Hough, Martina Houlihan and Louis McCormack.
Our jackpot now stands at €7,900. Thank you for your continued support.

Senior: Lorrha drew 2-10 to 1-13 with Golden Kilfeacle in our opening league game on Sunday afternoon. We have a bye next weekend with our next league game away to Knockavilla Kickhams in Dundrum on Sunday, 27 March.

U21 Football: Lorrha were defeated 0-13 to 1-8 by Shannon Rovers Gaels in the North semi-final in Borrisokane on Saturday afternoon. In a game played in sleet for much of the hour, Lorrha battled well and just came up short in the end.

U21 Hurling: Lorrha will take on Kildangan in the first round of the Under 21 ‘A’ championship in Borrisokane on St. Patrick’s Day @ 12 noon. Best of luck to the players and mentors.

U16: Training on Wednesday nights in Moatfield from 7-8pm. All players to attend. The U16’s begin their football campaign against Toomevara (away) this weekend. Check Bord na nOg fixtures for details.

Under 14: Training continues on Friday evenings from 6-7pm.

Indoor Hurling: for Under 8’s continues in Lorrha Hall on Friday evening from 7- 8pm. U10 & 12 training in Lorrha Hall on Fridays from 6 – 7pm and on Tuesdays from 7.30 – 8.30pm.

Tipperary Clubs Draw: The final draw of the 2010-2011 Tipperary Clubs draw took place on Friday last. All coordinators are asked to collect all outstanding money for the draw before registering members for the 2011-2012 draw which will begin in May.

Photo Gallery: Further to the ongoing development of the new clubhouse facilities, the committee are looking at setting up of photo gallery of current and past Lorrha teams and Lorrha players who played with Tipperary over the years.
We ask that anyone who would have photos in their family photo albums relating to above would wish to share with the club. The club will make a copy of your submitted photo and return original to you.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night in our newly extended function room to the music of Footloose. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
