Senior Hurling: The seniors got their competitive year underway last Sunday when we lost to Portroe, 5-24 to 1-20 in the first round of the Hogan Cup. After a bright start, the concession of quick goals either side of the break were our downfall.
We hope to have a number of players returning this Sunday when we travel to Toomevara in the first round of the new County Senior Hurling Challenge Cup. The game takes place at 2.30pm.
Senior Football: Thomas MacDonaghs will play Fethard in the opening round of the County Senior Football Championship on weekend 13-14 April. Ardfinnan and Moyle Rovers are also in the group.
Under 21 Football: The U21 championship game against Ballina didn’t take place last Saturday. Next Saturday we are scheduled to play Moneygall/Clonakenny in Moatfield at 4pm.
Inter-provincial: Best of luck to Patrick Maher and the Munster team in this Sunday’s Inter-provincial hurling final against Connacht in Ennis.
Fitzgibbon Cup: Best of luck to Ciaran Haugh and the Waterford IT team in this Friday’s Fitzgibbon Cup semi-final against Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.
Easter Camp: Lorrha GAA Club will be hosting an Easter Camp between 2-4 April from 2-5pm each day. Cost of the camp is €20. To register, contact juvenile secretary Louise Mannion.
Tipperary GAA Clubs’ Quiz: A Table Quiz will be held on Thursday, 14th March with all proceeds going to the Tipperary County Board. The general knowledge quiz will begin at 9.30pm sharp with the questions being asked live on Tipp FM. Tables of 4 are €40.
The winning team will progress to the County Final in Thurles on Thursday, 28th March along with the winners from all the other clubs with the overall County Champion winning a weekend for 4 people in New York (flights and accommodation included).
Gaeltacht Scholarships: Coiste Chontae Thiobraid Árann is offering a limited number of Gaeltacht Scholarships to 2nd level students in the county. These Scholarships are limited to those students currently in 2nd, 5th and Transition Years. Applicants or their parents must have been registered members of their local GAA Club in 2012. Closing date for applications is this Thursday, February 28th. Application forms are available from Shane Brophy or the Tipperary GAA website.
Membership: for 2013 is now due. All are encouraged to sign-up before the closing date of 31st March as it will count towards our Tipperary ticket allocation later in the year and will also be entered into a draw for 2 Stand Tickets to the All Ireland Hurling Final. Adult Player – €50; Non-Playing Adult – €30; Students & Minors – €20; Juveniles (16 & under) – €15; Family Membership (2 Adults & 2 Juveniles) – €80. Each additional child is €10 each. Gym Membership: for 2013 is now available. (All rates are inclusive of club membership rates above) Adult Players – €150 (€50+€100); Non-Playing member – €150 (€30+€120); Student – €100 (€20+€80); Family (2+2) – €200 (€80+€120); Non club member – €150. Tipperary Clubs Draw: We are asking all promoters to bring their monies up to date and forward them to draw coordinator Margaret Gleeson.

Sean Nós Dancing: has finished for the current session.
Gymnastics: continues every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-8pm and Saturdays from 11-2pm.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of the Moynihan Brothers. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Admission is €8, refreshments served.
