Lorrha GAA News for 2 September

Senior: Our senior hurlers have been drawn against JK Brackens in the quarter final of the O Riain Cup in Cloughjordan on Sunday 10th September at 5.30pm

 

 

Junior: The Junior hurlers are through to the semi-final with one game to be played against Moneygall in a few weeks time.

 

 

 

 

Under 21: With our minor campaign at and end, all minors are asked to train with the adult teams in advance of the under 21 championship which is due to begin in mid September against Silvermines

 

 

 

 

Under 16: Lorrha Rovers Gaels exited the championship at the quarter final stage against Nenagh Eire Og last Monday week, suffering a 5-24 to 2-7 defeat. Thanks to the players and mentors for their efforts this year.

 

 

 

 

Under 13: In the first round of the Plate, the U13's host Kiladangan in Moatfield on Saturday 2nd September at 12 noon.

 

 

 

 

Under 12: Pride of place this week goes to our Under 12 hurlers who achieved County glory in winning the County 'B' Final in Dundrum on Sunday, defeating Father Sheehys 1-8 to 1-7. Captain Fergus O'Donoghue lifted the Cup on behalf of a delighted squad in front of a large travelling support who made their way to West Tipperary.

 

 

 

 

The successful panel were: Con O’Meara; Lee Hogan, Fergus O’Donoghue, Liam Donoghue, Celine Guinan, Rory Duffy, Conor Kennedy, Robert Duffy, Paul Cahalan, Tom Perry, Dermot Houlihan, Jake Houlihan, John O’Meara, Sarah Gorman, Nicholas Perry, Nicola Kelly, Grace Reid, Emma Deegan, Jason Houlihan, Niall Duggan. Well done also to the management team of Denis Duffy, Tom Kennedy, Martina Duffy and Donal O'Donoghue.

Under 11: The U11's take part in the Plate competition, beginning in Newport last evening (Tuesday) before hosting Kiladangan in Moatfield on Saturday 9th September.

 

 

 

 

Tipperary: Colm Fogarty was a member of the Tipperary Under 15 'B' Hurling panel who took part in the Munster Tournament in Clarecastle last Saturday. They defeated Waterford and Clare but lost to Galway which put them into the Shield Final where they lost to Kerry 'A'.

 

 

 

 

Fundraiser: The club has launched a 2500-to-1 fundraising draw with a prize fund of €10,000. We have 2,500 tickets valued from 1 cent to 2500 cents (€25) and when you accept to take a ticket, you scratch off a hidden section and the value in this section is what you pay for the ticket, it could be 1 cent, €25, or any value in between. All tickets bought will be entered into a draw in late September for a top prize of €5,000 with eleven ther prizes ranging from €2,000 to €200. Your support would be appreciated.
