Lorrha GAA News for 20 April

Senior Hurling: The senior hurlers went down to a 1-19 to 1-6 defeat to Borris-Ileigh in their second North SHC game last Saturday. Lorrha’s remaining game is against Borrisokane with the winner progressing to a quarter final playoff against the third placed team in group 1.
Junior Hurling: Lorrha’s second league game is away to Moneygall this Saturday in Moneygall at 6.30pm.
Minor Football: The Minor footballers take on Portroe in Portroe on Wednesday (this evening) in their final game and a win will see us through to the semi-finals.
Under 16: The U16’s lost to Portroe in their second game in Monday week last. Last Monday, Lorrha received a walkover from Templederry. Next Monday, Lorrha are at home to Borris-Ileigh with throw-in @ 6.30pm.
Under 12: The U12’s had a fine 2-7 to 1-0 win over Silvermines in Dolla last Friday. Next Friday evening, Lorrha host Borris-Ileigh in Moatfield at 7.00pm.
Senior Football: Well done to Thomas MacDonaghs who had a 1-6 to 0-7 win over Fethard in the County Championship on Sunday evening.
County Scene: Well done to Brian Hogan and the Tipperary Minor Hurlers in their Munster Championship first round game against Waterford in Waterford last Thursday.
Hard luck to the Tipperary U21 Footballers in the Munster Final against Cork last Wednesday.
Best of Luck to Patrick Maher and Tipperary in the National Hurling League semi-final against Dublin this Sunday, and also to the Tipp Minor footballers against Clare this Saturday.
Gym Membership: (All rates are inclusive of club membership rates above) Adult Players – €150 (€50+€100); Non-Playing member – €150 (€30+€120); Student – €100 (€20+€80); Family (2+2) – €200 (€80+€120); Non club member – €150. The Gathering: The Club will be hold a Gathering in the GAA Centre on Friday, 21st June as part of the Lorrha & Dorrha Heritage Festival. We will be holding a reunion of the 1983 Lorrha Intermediate Football and Under 21 hurlers, 1993 Minor hurlers and 2003 Junior ‘B’ hurlers, all of whom won North titles in those years. More details in the coming weeks but keep the date free.
Tipperary Clubs Draw: The final monthly draw took place recently so we ask all promoters to bring their monies up to date and forward them to draw coordinator Margaret Gleeson.
Sports Hall or Function Room: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities, which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
Circuit Training: for ladies continues in the Clubhouse every Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7-8pm, plus there is a special class for Men only on Wednesday’s from 8pm. For more information contact Noel Hogan 0876176472.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Glynn Flynn. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Admission €8 with refreshments served.
