Lorrha GAA News for 20 December

November 8, 2018

Juvenile AGM: The Juvenile Club AGM took place in the GAA Clubhouse on Wednesday last in front of a small crowd but a good discussion on our future players was had.
Aidan McIntyre and Niall Brophy remain as Chairman and Secretary respectively and both gave their reports which reflected on a highly satisfying year with the Under 14’s winning the North title and unlucky not to see it turned into county honours. The Under 16’s also reached a North Final. There was concern that the new ruling that girls can not play at U14 level in 2009 would have a serious effect over the next few years due to the fact that numbers of boys in the local primary schools is very low although the current numbers within the infant classes is heartening for the long term future.
A greater effort would take place in 2009 to attract more children to training in the field on a regular basis and not just for the Summer Camp.
The management teams for the year were confirmed. U16 – Hubert Hogan & Declan O’Meara; U14 – Willie Fogarty; U12 – Aidan McIntyre, Joe Dolan & Pat Kennedy; U10’s, 8’s and 6’s – To be confirmed.
