Lorrha GAA News for 21 March

Adjourned AGM: The Adjourned AGM of Lorrha GAA club will take place on Monday, 30 March at 8.30pm sharp. A number of issues from the AGM have been carried over plus we will have full information on the proposed development works.

Senior: The Seniors got their league campaign underway in Moneygall on Saturday and came out on the wrong side of a two point defeat in a high-scoring game. Our next game is against Éire Óg Annacarty in Moatfield on Sunday, 29 March.
The draw for the senior championship was made last week. Lorrha will take on champions Kildangan in the first round on weekend 25-26 April with games against Templederry, Kilruane MacDonaghs, Roscrea and Portroe to follow.

Junior: The Juniors get their league campaign underway this Saturday in Moatfield against Kilruane MacDonaghs. Throw-in @ 2.30pm.

U21: The Under 21’s take on Templederry in the first round of the championship in Cloughjordan on Saturday, 28 March at 5pm.

Minor Football: The minor footballers have been drawn to play Borrisokane and Shannon Rovers Gaels in the group stage of the ‘B’ championship.

Schools: Hard Luck to Willie Maher who was on the Banagher Colleges team that lost the Leinster Vocation Schools final on Saturday. However, they still progress to the All Ireland semi-final

Lá na gClub: As part of the GAA’s 125 Celebrations, Sunday, 10 May has been designated as La na gClub. This day will be free of club and inter-county games with each club encouraged to host events to mark the influence of the GAA in the local community. A sub-committee will be set up at the Adjourned AGM club to organise events and all ideas are welcome.

Indoor Hurling: Indoor hurling continues in Lorrha Hall on Friday night at 7pm with Team 7 in charge.

Membership: Membership for 2009 is now available. €40 – Adult Players; €20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/College Students and Juveniles (with match ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (without match ticket entry). All players must have their membership paid before the start of the league and all membership is payable to club registrar Jack Maher or any committee member.

Lotto: The numbers drawn this week were: 5 – 6 – 17 – 20. No Winner.
The Lucky Dips were: Paul Gallagher, Liam Reddish, B Reddish, V Donoghue and Liam Hyland. The Winning Promoters were: Brophys, PJ Hogan and James Dunne. Thank you for your continued support.

All lotto draws take place in the GAA Clubhouse on Monday night. The draw takes place at 10pm and all are welcome to attend. Thank you for your continued support.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of Nightwaves. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
