Lorrha GAA News for 22 January

The lotto is a vital part of our fundraising activity. Youcan also play our lotto online at www.myclubfinances.comwhere it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

 

Juvenile AGM: TheAGM of the Juvenile club took place on Saturday night last. Brendan Ryan andRuth Needham stepped down as Chairman and Secretary respectively and werereplaced by Sean Mannion and Louise Mannion.

The management teams for the year were also confirmed. U8 –Sean Mannion & Tommy Cahalan; U10 & 12 – Louise Mannion and DavidSullivan; U14: Pat Kennedy & Eamon Sherlock; U16: Ken Hogan.

 

Indoor Hurling: forUnder 8’s will commence in Lorrha Hall on Friday, 4 February from 7 to 8pm.   

 

Medal Presentations: TheMinor hurlers and U14 footballers will be presented with their 2010 Northmedals in the GAA Clubhouse on Sunday, 30 January at 6.00pm. The Liam MacCarthyCup will be present along with our All Ireland winners Patrick Maher and CiaranHaugh so it is a great opportunity for photos with the silverware. Refreshmentswill also be served. All are welcome to attend.

 

Membership: Membership for 2011 is now due. €40 – Adult Players;€20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/College Students and Juveniles (withmatch ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (without match ticket entry). Closing datefor membership is 31 March and people are urged to do so by then as figurescollected on this date will count towards our allocation of Tipperary ticketslater in the year.

Coaching Courses: A Foundation Coaching course for Tuesday 25th andThursday 27th January will take place at a North Tipp venue. 

An Award 1 Coaching coursefor February 10th, 12th, 16th and 19th at a North Tipp venue hasalso been confirmed. Anyone interested in taking part should contactcoaching officer, Ken Hogan.

 

Tipp GAA Calendar: Aspectacular 2011 GAA Calendar has been produced by the Friends of TipperaryFootball with all Tipp teams in both hurling and football over the past yearfeaturing. The calendars are free when you purchase a membership of the Friendsof Tipperary Football which costs just €20. You are also entered into a drawfor a top cash prize of €2000. The calendars can be purchased from PRO, ShaneBrophy (087-6989612).

 

Old Time Dancing:Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night in our newly extended function roomto the music of Midnight Melodies. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.

 

Sympathy: LorrhaGAA Club would like to sympathise with the Gleeson family on the death of PKGleeson, who died last week. May he rest in peace.
