Lorrha GAA News for 22 September

Lotto: Congratulations to Annie & Rita Coughlan, Rathcabbin who won the Lorrha GAA Lotto Jackpot of €19,750. Congrats also to Darina Kelly who was the promoter of the winning ticket.

Under 21 Hurling: The Under 21 ‘A’ Hurling Championship match with Burgess will take place on Saturday, 29th September in Cloughjordan at 4pm.
Junior Football: The Junior footballers exited the championship following a 2-11 to 1-3 defeat to Borrisokane in Ballingarry on Sunday evening.
Minor Hurling: Lorrha Rovers earned their first win of their championship with a 2-17 to 2-16 victory over Kilruane MacDonaghs in Moatfield last Friday evening. The team played some great hurling in the first half and led by 12 points at the break. However, Kilruane fought back with the combo hanging on at the end. Lorrha Rovers next game will be against Ballina in Ballinderry but it won’t be played until after the All Ireland minor final replay.
Minor Football: The North Minor ‘A’ Football final between Lorrha Rovers and Nenagh Eire Óg will take place in the coming weeks.
All Ireland Football Final Tickets: Tickets for the All Ireland Football Final will be drawn for among fully paid up club members only on Wednesday, 19th September (tonight) at 9.00pm in the Clubhouse.
All Ireland Hurling Final Replay Tickets: Tickets for the All Ireland Hurling Final Replay on 30th September will be drawn for among fully paid up club members only on Wednesday, 26th September at 9.00pm in the Clubhouse.
First Aid and Defibrillator Training: The club will be organizing a course following healthy expressions of interest. We are currently looking at dates in October to hold the course.
Gym: The club are now issuing key-fobs for those that wish to use the gym on a regular basis. For more information contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
Sports Hall or Function Room booking: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
Circuit Training: continues in the Clubhouse every Monday and Wednesday evenings. For more information contact Noel Hogan 0876176472.
Irish Dancing Classes: Sean-Nós, Steps for Sets & Two Hand Dancing Classes continue every Wednesday, 12th September evening from 7-8pm for children and 8-9pm for adults. For more information contact Donie Morrissey on 087-9347968.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Checkers. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
