Lorrha GAA News for 24 January

Lotto: There was No Winner of last weeks lotto jackpot of €9,000. Numbers drawn were: 9 – 14 – 20 – 24. Lucky Dips: Carmel Molloy & Caitlin Judge, Geraldine & Tadhg, Grainne Hough, Bernie Mannion, Maher family (Roden). Promoters: Geraldine O'Meara, Willie Fogarty, Mulrooney's Gala.

Our jackpot this week is €9,150. Thank you for your continued support. You can play our lotto online at www.locallotto.ie where it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

Training: Adult training has recommenced for the coming year while the first championship in Under 21 Football will get underway in February.

Membership: for 2015 is now due. Rates were also confirmed with all inclusive of Gym membership: €90 – Adult player; €50 – Minor/College student; €30 – Non-playing Adult (+€70 extra for gym membership for 12 months); €20 – Juvenile (16 and under); €90 – Family (2 adults and 2 children, capped at €100 for three or more children).

Closing date for membership for all adult and juvenile players is the last day of February to be insured in training and games while the closing date for all membership is 31st March. This date will be strictly enforced and no monies will be accepted beyond this date. It is important to remember that our total number of adult members by 31st March is the number the County Board will use towards our ticket allocations for Tipperary games so it is in your interest to have membership paid by 31st March.

National Draw: Lorrha GAA Club are selling tickets for GAA's National Draw. Tickets are €10 each with prizes ranging from trips to New York, All Ireland final tickets etc.

There will also be an in-club fund for those who buy their tickets for the draw. A prize fund of €500 has been set aside but if we sell 1000 or more tickets, the prize fund will rise to €1000. The in-club draw will take place as part of our Club Social on 28th February.

Funds raised from the draw will go towards the cost of the Hurling Wall which is nearing completion at the back of the stand and will be another massive addition to the facilities at our club.

Referees Course: Tipperary County Board are looking for new referees to take part in a course in the New Year. Lorrha are one of 25 clubs in the county that do not have an active referee and we would like to address this. If anyone is interested in becoming a referee, email your contact details to referee.recruitment.tipperary@gaa.ie.

Coaching Courses: Anyone interested in undertaking a Foundation level or Level 1 coaching course are to contact David Needham as soon as possible.

Scor: Anyone interested in taking part in Scor na bPaisti and Senior Scor events in the coming weeks should contact any club officer as soon as possible.

Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Dessie Hynes & Frankie Scorr. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Social Dancing classes in the clubhouse every Monday night at 8pm.
