Lorrha GAA News for 25 January

Recognition Night: Lorrha GAA held a thank you night for our lotto promoters and social club in the GAA Centre last Saturday night. There was also a good discussion on how we could improve the lotto and the social dancing which provide vital funds to the club each year. Thanks to Eamon & Louise Mannion for looking after the food.

Juvenile Training: U6 & 8 training starting indoors on Friday, 14th February in the Sports Hall from 7-8pm. U10 training starting indoors on Wednesday, 12th February from 8-8.45pm. U12 & 14 training starting on Sunday, 2nd February from 2-3pm. All parents are to attend the first session with their child as there is an induction meeting before training.

For football, all kids need mouthguards for training and matches. No football boots needed for indoor training. Juvenile membership for 2014 is €20.

Membership: for 2014 is now due. Rates were also confirmed with all inclusive of Gym membership: €90 – Adult player; €50 – Minor/College student; €30 – Non-playing Adult (+€70 extra for gym membership for 12 months); €20 – Juvenile (16 and under); €90 – Family (2 adults and 2 children, capped at €100 for three or more children). Closing date for membership for all adult and juvenile players is the last day of February to be insured in games while the closing date for non-playing membership is 31st March. Membership can be paid to club registrar Louise Mannion or can also be done online at www.locallotto.ie

All County Quiz: Lorrha will be hosting a heat in the second All County Quiz, run by the Tipperary County Board on Friday, 21st February. Questions will be asked live on Tipp FM from 9pm. Teams of 4 are €40. National Draw: Lorrha GAA Club will be promoting the GAA's National Draw which will be held on St Patrick's Day. Tickets are €10 each with prizes ranging from a trip to Australia for the International Rules series next October to trips to New York, All Ireland final tickets etc. Funds raised from the draw will go towards repairing the damage to the goalposts and nets damaged by the storm before Christmas. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw: We would ask all the draw promoters and subscribers to bring their accounts up to date ahead.

Drug & Alcohol Policy: At the recent AGM, the club adopted a Drug & Alcohol policy which is on the main noticeboard while copies can also be gotten from the club secretary.

Coaching Courses: Anyone interested in undertaking a Foundation level or Level 1 coaching course over the winter months are to contact David Needham as soon as possible.

Sports Hall or Function Room booking: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities, which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion 087-3643031, Declan O'Meara (0872609314) or William Harding (083-3158170)

Social Dancing: continues in the GAA Clubhouse on Friday, 17th January to the music of Glenn Flynn. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
