Under 21 Hurling: Lorrha will play Toomevara in the first round of the North Under 21 ‘A’ Hurling Championship in Borrisokane on Monday next, 28 October at 3.00pm. Should Lorrha win, they will play the loser of Nenagh Eire Og or Kildangan in the quarter finals; if Lorrha lose they will play Burgess at the same stage of the competition.
Halloween GAA Camp: There will be a Lorrha GAA Camp running for three days in Moatfield GAA Complex from Tuesday, 29th Thursday 31st October from 10am- 1pm Daily. Cost €20 per child. Age’s 5-12 year old. Everyone Welcome! Contact James Dunne 0876255148 or Katie Kennedy 0851798015 to book.
Juvenile AGM: A successful Juvenile AGM took place in the GAA Centre last Wednesday night. Sean Mannion stepped down as Chairman after three years and was replaced by Dessie Clancy. Louise Mannion was re-elected as Secretary. Selectors were appointed to all teams from Under 6, 8 & 10; 12 & 14. Under 16 selectors to be confirmed at a later date. A high rate of compliance for Garda Vetting was reported but a number of people who are involved with teams remain to be vetted and it was urged that they do so as soon as possible.
Super 11s Exhibition: Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher was one of a number of high profile GAA players who took part in a Super 11’s Hurling Exhibition game which was played at the famed University of Notre Dame in the United States last Saturday.
Camogie: Hard luck to the Lorrha Junior camogie team on their defeat in the County final against Kilruane MacDonaghs in The Ragg last Sunday.

Community Work Scheme: Lorrha GAA Club have secured a second Community Employment Scheme. The post is for people who have been on social welfare for the last 12 months and who are over 25 years of age. Applications are being handled through the FAS office in Nenagh.
First Aid Course: North Tipperary Sports Partnership is running a Sports First Aid training course on Saturday 16th November in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh from 10am – 5pm. It aims to enable:
The recognition, assessment, and immediate on-site management of sports injuries.
Facilitate rehabilitation and minimise further risk of harm to the athlete.
Acquire basic life support skills.
Provide assistance to casualties until more qualified medical aid arrives.
This course teaches the medical assessment and management of a wide variety of sports injuries from the Approach to an Accident, Cardiac First Response, Wounds and Bleeding, Fractures & Broken Bones, Spinal Injuries and Medical Emergencies.
Numbers are limited to a maximum of 12 participants and places will be allocated on a first to register basis, so early booking is advised. The cost of the course is €70 per person.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants are presented with a Sports First Aid Certificate and a Heartsaver AED card from the Irish Heart Foundation/ CFR community from PHECC, which is valid for two years.
