Lorrha GAA News for 27 January

Adjourned AGM: The Adjourned Annual General Meeting of Lorrha GAA Club took place last Tuesday. Of the officer vacancies filled, Joe Dolan was elected new County Board Delegate while Caroline O'Brien is the Schools Liaison Officer.

Management teams were also confirmed. Junior Hurling – David Sullivan, JP Houlihan & one other. Under 21 – Michael O'Carroll, Noel Hogan, Graham Houlihan and Michael Kennedy; Minor (with Shannon Rovers Gaels) – Tom Madden and David Fogarty.

Auction: Our annual Auction has been fixed for Sunday 4th February at 2.00pm. Timber cutting has begun. All help would be appreciated.

Medal Presentation: The Under 21, Junior, Under 12 and Under 11 hurlers will receive their North & County medals for 2017 at a Presentation Night in Moatfield on Saturday 10th February. More details in the coming weeks.

Tipperary Challenge: Thank you to everyone who helped out in any way in Moatfield last Saturday for the senior hurling challenge between Tipperary and Liam Mellows. Thankfully the bad weather moved on in time for the game to go ahead. It was great to see so much help in and outside the grounds on the day.

Refereeing: A foundation course, organised by Tipperary County Board for new referees, will take place over four nights in February. Please contact North Referees Coordinator Philip Kelly for further info 0872863683.

Social Dancing: continues on Friday night with music of Brian McDermott, from 9.30pm til late.

Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Long family on the death of Gerry Long, Ballingarry, and to the White family on the passing of Sean White, Carrig. May they rest in peace.
