Lorrha GAA News for 27 July

Senior: Lorrha were defeated by Carrick Davins on a scoreline of 3-19 to 2-14 in the semi-final of the Seamus O’Riain Cup in Templemore on Saturday evening. See match report. This was a poor performance and brings our year to an end. Thanks to the players and mentors for their efforts.
Junior Hurling: Lorrha have two games remaining against Kildangan and Borris-Ileigh, requiring wins in both to make the knockout stages.
Minor: Lorrha lost to Shannon Rovers on a 3-11 to 2-11 scoreline in Ballinderry last Thursday evening in the Minor hurling championship. Lorrha take on Templederry this Wednesday (24th July) at 7.30pm, but regardless Lorrha are already through to the quarter finals.
Under 16: Lorrha had a superb 3-12 to 2-11 win over Moneygall in round 2 on Monday of last week. Lorrha took on Templederry last Monday night, news next week. Next Monday night, Lorrha host Kildangan in Moatfield at 7pm.
Under 12: Lorrha are in a group 2 semi-final where they will play Silvermines in Dolla on this Monday, 26th July at 6.45pm
Tipperary: Well done to Ken Hogan and the Tipperary Under 21 hurlers in their Munster semi-final against Cork in Thurles last Wednesday and to the Intermediate hurlers on their Munster Final victory over Cork in Thurles last Friday evening.
Cúl Camp: This years Kellogg’s Cúl Camp took place last week in Moatfield. With the fine weather it was a superb week for the 77 boys and girls who took part. Thanks to camp coodinator Len Gaynor as well as Brian Hogan and Katie Kennedy who were also camp coaches. Thanks to Sean & Louise Mannion also for their work.
Tipperary Clubs Draws: There was no luck for the club in the July Draw held on Friday night.
Gym Membership: (All rates are inclusive of club membership rates above) Adult Players – €150 (€50+€100); Non-Playing member – €150 (€30+€120); Student – €100 (€20+€80); Family (2+2) – €200 (€80+€120); Non club member – €150. Individual rates are €3 per session for club members and €5 per session for non members. All 2012 members who have not renewed their membership have now had their phobs turned off. Parish Golf Outing: The 2013 Lorrha Parish Golf Outing will be held in Birr Golf Club on Saturday, 24th August. This years captain is Pat O’Brien. Tee-times from 9am to 1.30pm and to book your time contact Tony Coen on 0876219639
Social Dancing: resumes this Friday night to the music of Catherine & Images. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Refreshments served.
Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Hogan family, Roden, on the death of Martin Hogan who died last week. May he rest in peace.
