Lorrha GAA News for 28 May

Official Opening: The Official Opening of the Lorrha & Dorrha GAA Centre took place on Sunday evening. The weather Gods shone on us with the rain holding off as Tony Reddin performed the official opening in front of a fine crowd. See report elsewhere
It was followed by an Under 21 hurling challenge between Tipperary and Galway which ended in a draw after a hard fought game.
Thanks to all those who helped out over the weekend to have the Clubhouse and the grounds in general looking so well and also to those who worked hard inside to provide refreshments and to Pat & Ritchie for providing the music.

Tipperary Clubs Draw: The 2011-2012 draw start has been deferred to Friday, 3 June. The Draw is €100 for the year or €10 per month with 12×20 monthly prizes ranging from €200 up to €30,000 or a car. Your support is greatly appreciated. Anyone still wishing to join can contact Draw Co-ordinator Margaret Gleeson.

Lotto: Our jackpot now stands at €9,550. Thank you for your continued support.

Senior: A depleted senior team lost 2-13 to 2-8 to Cappawhite in the third round of the league in Cappawhite on Saturday. Our next league game is this Saturday at home to Ballingarry @ 5pm where we need a win to remain in the hunt for the final.

Junior: Knockshegowna are our opponents in round 1 of the championship on weekend of 10-12 June.

Minor Hurling: Lorrha will take on Nenagh Éire Óg in the first round of the ‘A’ championship in late June.

U14: The U14’s were defeated by Silvermines in the second round of the championship last Wednesday. Next up is Portroe in Moatfield on Wednesday (this evening) at 7pm.

Premier 12’s: The Premier 12’s hurling begins on Friday, 3 June in Moatfield against Burgess at 7pm.

Under 8: Training in Moatfield on Friday’s from 7-8pm.

Tipp v Cork Tickets: All tickets ordered for the game are to be collected and paid for at the Clubhouse on Friday evening from 9pm.

Best of Luck: to Patrick & Kevin Maher and to the Tipperary senior and intermediate hurling teams in this Sunday’s Munster Championship opener against Cork in Semple Stadium

Cúl Camp: The Lorrha Vhi Cul Camp will be held between 18-22 July. Application forms have circulated in the schools. Prices are; €55 for first child; €45 for second and €35 for each subsequent child. Club contact is Louise Mannion 087-6598387 or Sean Mannion 087-9155676.

Super Camp: A Super Camp for 13-16 year olds, both boys and girls will be held in Burgess GAA club, Kilcolman between 3-5 August. The cost of the camp is €40 but places are limited to 12 per club. Contact Louise Mannion 087-6598387.

Old Time Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Nitewaves. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
