Lorrha GAA News for 29 August

November 8, 2018

Lotto: Our jackpot is now €5,850. Thank you for your continued support. You can play our lotto online at where it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

Senior: Following the victories for Killenaule and Eire Og Annacarty in the South and West finals respectively on Sunday, Lorrha are through to the last 16 of the county championship and have been drawn against Eire Og Annacarty in the preliminary quarter finals, likely to be on weekend 12-13 September. We have already lost to the West champions in the group stage of the county championship last May.

Junior Hurling: Hard luck to the junior hurlers who lost 1-14 to 1-13 to Borrisokane in the Junior 'B' Championship quarter final in Cloughjordan on Saturday evening. An injury time penalty for Borrisokane was the difference despite a gutsy effort from our lads. Thanks to the players and mentors for their efforts throughout the yeat, which included winning the league.

Junior Football: Lorrha will take on Shannon Rovers in the first round of the Junior 'A' championship in Moatfield this Sunday at 12 noon.

Minor: Following Borrisokane's victory over Silvermines last week, Lorrha have been pipped to a semi-final spot by Borrisokane on the head to head record despite the sides being tied on six points apiece. Thanks to the players and mentors for their efforts over the course of the summer.

Under 16: Lorrha/Shannon Rovers beat Ballina 2-15 to 2-9 in their last group game on Monday week last. They have topped the group unbeaten and will now play either Burgess in the semi-final, next Monday, 31st August in either Moatfield or Ballinderry.

Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw: We ask all promoters to bring their accounts up to date.
