Lorrha GAA News for 3 October

Senior: The Seamus O’Riain Cup Final against Kilruane MacDonaghs will be played on Sunday, 11 October in Nenagh. Time TBC

U21: Well done to the Under 21’s who defeated Kildangan 1-18 to 2-10 in the quarter final replay in Cloughjordan on Sunday afternoon. Burgess are our opponents in the semi-final which takes place this Sunday in Nenagh @ 12 noon. The club wish a speedy recovery to Kevin Maher who picked up an ankle injury in the game.

U16: Lorrha will take on Moyle Rovers in the county Under 16 ‘B’ semi-final this Saturday in Templemore @ 1pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors.

Camogie: Well done to the Lorrha junior camogie team on reaching the county final by beating Annacarty in the semi-final on Sunday. Lorrha will play Clonoulty in the final on Saturday, 10 October in The Ragg @ 4.30pm.

Football: Thomas MacDonaghs were beaten 2-13 to 0-10 by Aherlow in the county senior football championship quarter final in Boherlahan on Sunday afternoon.

College Bursaries: Application forms are now available for third level students for the GAA’s National Bursaries scheme. If granted, bursaries are worth €1000 per year. There is also an additional scheme for those that attend college in Munster. Closing date is 1 November.

First Aid Courses: Borrisokane Community College are offering a first aid course this autumn. The course will be for six weeks, from 7-9pm every Thursday night commencing on the 1st of October. Lotto: All lotto draws take place in the GAA Clubhouse on Monday night. The draw takes place at 10pm and all are welcome to attend. Thank you for your continued support.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing resumes on Friday night to the music of J&S Sound. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.

Sympathy: Lorrha GAA club would like to sympathise with the O’Meara family, Cullagh on the death of Ellen O’Meara (nee Murphy) who died on Friday last. May she rest in peace.
