Lorrha GAA News for 4 June

Senior: Lorrha will face Roscrea in the first round of the North Championship in Cloughjordan this Sunday 5th June at 7pm where a win is a must to prolong our year and progress to the quarter finals. All support would be appreciated

Junior: The Juniors are still in the hunt for a league semi-final and will likely face a three-way playoff with Ballina and Kiladangan. Check fixtures for possible game this weekend.

Under 14: Lorrha Rovers Gaels got their hurling championship campaign underway last Wednesday with a 3-17 to 1-2 win over Moneygall/Clonakenny.

This evening (Wednesday), they play Newport in Ballinderry at 7pm

Under 12: Lorrha took on Shannon Rovers in the first round of the championship last Monday evening, news next week. This Friday evening, Lorrha host Toomevara in Moatfield at 6.30pm

Feile na nGael: Lorrha and Shannon Rovers Gaels will be hosting Clooney Gaels from Antrim as part of Feile na nGael which is being held in Tipperary & Waterford from June 17th-19th. This is a huge honour to welcome hurling folk from another part of the country and we look forward to showing them the best of the area that weekend.

Lorrha Rovers are in Division 4 and will play Portaferry from Down in Dolla on Friday 17th June at 4.30pm before playing Silvermines in Dolla at 5.30pm. On Saturday, Lorrha Rovers will play Clooney Gaels in Moatfield at 10.30am and depending on where they finish in their group will head towards Mid and West Tipp for a quarter final in the Cup or Shield later in the afternoon.

Tipperary v Limerick: Tipperary play Limerick in the Munster Senior & Intermediate Hurling semi-finals in Thurles on Sunday 19th June. All ticket orders must be with Shane Brophy by Friday 10th June, no orders will be taken after that date. Depending on demand, there might have to be a draw for stand tickets.

Tipperary Clubs Draw: The 2016-2017 Draw will get underway next Friday 3rd June. If you want to join, contact any club officer. Tickets are €100 for the year with an excellent prize fund of €500,000 with 12 monthly draws.

Lorrha CountryFest 2016: The launch of Lorrha CountryFest 2016 will be held in the GAA Centre on Wednesday, 8th June at 8pm. All are welcome to attend to meet some of the artists who will be performing and to help make the event a success not just for the club but for the local community as we aim to get thousands of people into the area on the day.

Tickets are on sale for Lorrha CountryFest on Sunday, 17th July from 12 noon to 7pm. Line-up includes Mike Denver, Robert Mizzell, Louise Morrissey, The Conquerors, Johnny Brady, Pete Kennedy, Sean Slattery & The Connections, Tradstone and Brendan Liffey. Social Dancing: on Friday night to the music of Muriel O'Connor. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
