Senior: The senior hurlers enjoyed a hard earned 0-14 to 0-11 win over Borrisokane in the North Championship in Moneygall on Sunday evening. The win puts Lorrha into a quarter final playoff against Toomevara on weekend 11-12 May.
Junior Hurling: Lorrha’s next league game is against Burgess in Moatfield this Saturday, 4 May at 7pm where a win would put us in with a great chance of making the semi-finals.
Minor Football: The Minor Footballers received a walkover from Portroe last Friday. The result puts the team into a semi-final against Kildangan in Cloughjordan on Wednesday, 1st May (this evening) at 7pm; all support appreciated.
Under 12: The U12’s took on Silvermines in Moatfield on Tuesday evening in their Group 2 semi-final. News next week.
County Scene: Best of luck to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary senior hurlers in their Allianz Hurling League Final against Kilkenny in Nowlan Park on Sunday. The match is all-ticket and tickets can be bought online at www.tickets.ie, or through Centra or SuperValu stores.
Tipperary Clubs Draw: The 2013-2014 Tipperary Clubs Draw was launched last Thursday night. Lorrha were one of two clubs in the North division to increase its membership last year so we look forward to your support once again. The new draw commences on Friday, 17th May and our promoters will be in touch with existing and new players in the coming days. We ask all promoters and subscribers to bring their previous years accounts up to date before the new draw commences. Tickets are €100 for the year and can be paid in instalments. Club Coordinator is Margaret Gleeson.
Gym Membership: (All rates are inclusive of club membership rates above) Adult Players – €150 (€50+€100); Non-Playing member – €150 (€30+€120); Student – €100 (€20+€80); Family (2+2) – €200 (€80+€120); Non club member – €150. The Gathering: The Club will be hold a Gathering in the GAA Centre on Friday, 21st June as part of the Lorrha & Dorrha Heritage Festival. We will be holding a reunion of the 1983 Lorrha Intermediate Football and Under 21 hurlers, 1993 Minor hurlers and 2003 Junior ‘B’ hurlers, all of whom won North titles in those years. More details in the coming weeks but keep the date free.
Sports Hall or Function Room: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities, which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
Circuit Training: for ladies continues in the Clubhouse every Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7-8pm, plus there is a special class for Men only on Wednesday’s from 8pm. For more information contact Noel Hogan 0876176472.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Nando & Shandy. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Admission €8 with refreshments served.
