Lorrha GAA News for 6 April

Senior Hurling: The North Championship begins next Sunday, 7th April when Lorrha take on Templederry in Cloughjordan at 5.30pm. Please come out and support the team.
Following Tipperary’s win last Sunday, the second round game against Borris-Ileigh will take place on weekend 13-14 April.
The team completed their preparations for the North Championship with a good 4-19 to 0-15 win over Mullinahone in the County Challenge Cup Section D Quarter Final on Good Friday. Lorrha will play Cappawhite (away) in the semi-finals in the coming weeks.
Junior Hurling: The Junior ‘A’ hurlers began their league campaign with a narrow 1-9 to 0-10 defeat to Borris-Ileigh in tough conditions in Moatfield on Easter Sunday.
Lorrha’s next game is away to Moneygall on weekend 20-21 April.
Minor: The footballers lost 3-7 to 2-6 away to Moneygall/Clonakenny in the opening round of the Minor ‘B’ Championship last Wednesday. Lorrha’s next game is a must-win against Borrisokane in Moatfield on Wednesday (this evening) at 6.30pm.
Under 16: The U16’s began their North Football Championship campaign against Burgess in last Monday, news next week. Next Monday, Lorrha host Portroe in Moatfield at 6.30pm.
Under 12: The U12’s begin their Group 2 Football campaign at home to Ballina this Friday, 5th April @ 6.30pm.
Tipperary GAA Clubs’ Quiz: Well done to Lorrha’s team of Aidan, Pauline & Niall McIntyre and Maria Brophy who finished runners-up in the County Final of the All County Table Quiz on Holy Thursday.
Membership & Registration: The closing date for membership has now passed. Thanks to all those who have joined as members for the coming year. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Gym Membership: (All rates are inclusive of club membership rates above) Adult Players – €150 (€50+€100); Non-Playing member – €150 (€30+€120); Student – €100 (€20+€80); Family (2+2) – €200 (€80+€120); Non club member – €150. The Gathering: The Club will be hold a Gathering in the GAA Centre on Friday, 21st June as part of the Lorrha & Dorrha Heritage Festival. We will be holding a reunion of the 1983 Lorrha Intermediate Football and Under 21 hurlers, 1993 Minor hurlers and 2003 Junior ‘B’ hurlers, all of whom won North titles in those years. More details in the coming weeks but keep the date free.
Tipperary Clubs Draw: The final monthly draw took place last Monday night so we ask all promoters to bring their monies up to date and forward them to draw coordinator Margaret Gleeson.
Sports Hall or Function Room: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities, which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
Circuit Training: for ladies continues in the Clubhouse every Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7-8pm, plus there is a special class for Men only on Wednesday’s from 8pm. For more information contact Noel Hogan 0876176472.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Dermot Lyons. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Admission €8 with refreshments served.
