Lorrha GAA News for 7 January

Juvenile AGM: The Juvenile AGM was held in the Clubhouse on Tuesday, 21 December. The highlight of the year was the Under 16’s winning the ‘C’ North Championship. Sean Mannion remains as Chairman with Tommy Cahalan as Vice-Chairman. Louise Mannion remains as secretary with Martina Houlihan as assistant secretary.
Management teams: U8 – Fergus Gorman, Tommy Cahalan, Mark Houlihan; U10 & 12 – Dessie Clancy and James Dunne; U14 & 16 – Pat Kennedy, Eamon Sherlock, Hubert Hogan, Ken Hogan, Aidan McIntyre (First Aid).

Lotto: The numbers drawn last week were: 15 – 17 – 19 – 30. No Winner.
The Lucky Dips were: Mrs K Kennedy (Newtown), Annie Cowan, Deirdre O’Meara (Lisballyard), Ruby Anne Rushe (Ballymcegan) and Una Donoghue. 
The Promoters were: Mary Brady, Tony Coen and Tommy Cahalan.
Our jackpot now stands at €14,200. Thank you for your continued support.

Fundraiser: A Fundraising Car Draw will take place on St. Patrick’s Night, 17 March. Top prize is a Volkswagon Polo (kindly supplied by Al Hayes Motors, Portumna) with second and third prizes of 42” and 28” flat screen TV’s. There will also be a 28” TV as prize for the seller of the ticket for the car.
Tickets are €20 each or three for €50 and are selling well so far. Tickets can be bought from any committee member and anyone that wishes to come on board as a ticket seller is to contact William Harding.

Tipperary Calendar: The 2012 Tipperary GAA Calendar is now available at just €10. The price also includes membership of the Friends of Tipperary Football and entry into a draw for Tipperary hurling or football Season Tickets. Calendars can be bought from Shane Brophy.

Gym Opening Hours: Our gym is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7.00 to 9.30pm. For further information including membership rates for club members and non club members, contact Graham (087-9610002), Tadhg (087-4125642) or Sean (087-3643031). Vouchers also available.
There is also a special class on a Thursday night for those who wish to train at a slower pace from 7.00-8.00pm.

Scrap Metal: Thanks to all who donated items so far to our Scrap Metal collection.
If anyone still has anything of any kind they want to get rid of, please contact any committee member.
We will gratefully accept donations of a wide range of metal, iron or steel items no longer in use such as old equipment, machinery or cars, containers, utensils, pots, pans, sink tops, radiators, pipes, barrels, garden furniture, garden toys, bicycles, gates, fencing wire, etc.

Sports Hall or Function Room booking: Anyone interested in using the Function Room, Sports Hall, Gym or the Clubhouse for any event can contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.

Old Time Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Nightwaves. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
