Lorrha GAA News for 8 April

Social Night & Car Draw: Our Fundraising Car Draw and Social Night takes place on this Sunday night, 8th April in the GAA Clubhouse from 9.30pm with the Car Draw to take place at 10pm. The senior hurlers will also be presented with their 2011 league medals. All are welcome to attend. Anyone that would like to bring along sandwiches or baked goods for the night, it would be appreciated.
Top prize is a Volkswagon Polo (kindly supplied by Al Hayes Motors, Portumna) with second and third prizes of 42” and 28” Flat Screen TV’s. There will also be a 28” Flat Screen TV for the seller of the winning ticket for the car. The Promoter that sells the most tickets will get €150 and voucher for The Thatch Cottage, Ballycommon. Tickets are €20 each or three for €50. Tickets can be bought from any committee member or can be bought on online on our club page on www.locallotto.ie.
Membership: Thanks to all those who registered as members of the club for 2012. Membership cards will be forwarded in due course while the winner of the 2 All Ireland Hurling Final tickets will be drawn for at the next club committee meeting.
Lotto: Our jackpot new stands at €16,150. Thank you for your continued support. You can also play our lotto online atwww.myclubfinances.com where it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.
Senior: Our North Senior Championship opener against Burgess takes place on Easter Sunday, 8th April in Cloughjordan @ 6.00pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors.
Junior: The Juniors started their league campaign with a good 2-11 to 0-11 win over Moneygall in Moatfield on Saturday evening. Next game away to Borris-Ileigh.
Minor Football: The amalgamation of Lorrha & Shannon Rovers (Lorrha Rovers) gets its first outing against Nenagh Eire Óg in Nenagh on this Wednesday, 4th April at 6.30pm.
Under 16: The U16’s played Shannon Rovers in their second game on Monday last, new next week. Lorrha’s next game is at home to Portroe this weekend.
Under 14: The U14’s began their football campaign against Shannon Rovers last week a suffered a heavy defeat. Next up is Burgess in Moatfield on Wednesday (tonight) at 6.30pm
Under 12: The U12’s made it two wins from two with a big win over Templederry on Saturday in Moatfield. Lorrha travel to Borris-Ileigh this weekend for their next game.
Easter Camp: Lorrha GAA Club will be holding a three-day Easter GAA Camp for 5-12 year olds, starting on the afternoon of Tuesday 10th April and finishing on Thursday 12th April. Cost of the camp is €20 per child.
Cúl Camp: This years Kelloggs Cul Camp will be held in Moatfield between 16-20 July. More details to follow.
Gym: Our gym is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7.00 to 9.30pm and on Saturdays from 12-3pm. Gym cost is €3 per session for all club members and €5 per session for non members. For further information, contact Graham (087-9610002), Tadhg (087-4125642) or Sean (087-3643031).
There is also a special class on a Thursday night for those who wish to train at a slower pace from 7.00-8.00pm.
Gymnastics in Moatfield: Midland Artisitic Gymnastics Club will be holding an Open Day on Tuesday 10th April from 4-5pm for girls ages 6 and older. Training every Monday and Wednesday evenig from 5-6pm. All are welcome.
Sports Hall or Function Room booking: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities, which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
Social Dancing: There will be no social dancing on Good Friday night. Dancing resumes on April 13th to the music of Pat & Ritchie. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
