Lorrha GAA News for 8 May

Lotto: Our jackpot reached a record high of €18,200 this week.
Thanks to everyone who is supporting our lotto, which is the clubs main source of fundraising. With the jackpot currently high, the number of players is growing by the week, particularly online on www.locallotto.ie where it is easy to play the lottery every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

Senior: The senior suffered another disappointing defeat in the championship to Roscrea on Saturday last. Next up in the championship is Toomevara on this Sunday in Nenagh @ 7pm.

Junior: The junior suffered a heavy defeat to Kilruane in our third league game on Monday afternoon.

Minor: The minor footballers got back to winning ways last week with a hard fought 3-7 to 1-8 win over Ballina in Moatfield. Our final group game against Portroe in Portroe takes place tonight (5 May @ 7pm) where we need a win or draw to progress.

U16: Thanks to Moneygall and Kinvara who travelled to Moatfield for challenge games over the past week.

U14: The U14’s will have to do it all over again after drawing with Shannon Rovers Gaels in last Saturday’s U14 ‘C’ Football Final. The replay takes place in Borrisokane on this Friday @ 6.15pm.

Cúl Camp: This years Lorrha GAA Cúl Camp will take place on the week of 19-23 July. The camp is open to all boys and girls from age six upwards. Each participant will receive a kit which will include jersey, socks, togs and gear bag. Application forms are being distributed through the schools this week. The cost for one child is €55, two children €100 and three children €135. All enquiries to Martina Houlihan 087-9138248.

Tipp Draw. All outstanding money from 09/10 is to be paid asap. New draw is starting in early May with a top prize of a Land Rover or €50,000. Entry to the draw is €100 per year or €10 per month. Application forms were in last weeks local newspapers or contact Shane Brophy (0876989612) if you wish to join.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of Midnight Melodies. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
