Lorrha GAA News for 9 April

Membership: Thanks to all who registered as members for 2011. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Tipperary Clubs Draw: The final draw of the 2010-2011 Tipperary Clubs draw took place last Saturday. All coordinators are asked to collect all outstanding money for the draw before registering members for the 2011-2012 draw which will begin in May. The Draw costs €100 for the year or €10 per month with monthly prizes ranging from €200 up to €15,000 and a car. €50 from each ticket stays with the club while the number of players counts towards our Tipperary ticket allocation later in the year. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Lotto: Our jackpot now stands at €8,500. Thank you for your continued support.
Next Monday’s draw (11 April) will see the work group being Team 3.
You can also play our lotto online at www.myclubfinances.com where it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

Senior: The North Championship gets underway against Kildangan in Nenagh on this Sunday, 10 April @ 2pm. 2010 was a difficult year but we hope to get this year off to a good start and look forward to a big Lorrha support. Admission to the game is €10 as it is the first part of a double-header with Burgess v Kilruane MacDonaghs.

Junior: The juniors earned a hard fought 2-7 to 1-8 win over Ballina in Moatfield on Sunday evening. Lorrha have a bye in the next round ahead of our next game against Moneygall.

Minor: The minors game against Nenagh Éire Óg was postponed last Thursday. Lorrha have a bye this week with our next game away to Ballina on Friday, 15 April.

U16: The U16’s beaten by Shannon Rovers Gaels in their third game on Monday of last week. They took on Silvermines on Monday last in their final group game, news next week. Training on Wednesday nights in Moatfield from 7-8pm.

U14: The U14 football championship began last Wednesday with defeat to Burgess in Moatfield. Next up is a trip to Dolla to play Silvermines on Wednesday (tonight) @ 6.30pm. Training continues on Friday evenings from 6-7pm.

U12: The U12’s footballers lost narrowly 4-5 to 3-6 to Burgess in Moatfield on Saturday. Next up is a game against Ballinahinch in Moatfield on Friday evening. Check Bord na nOg fixtures.

Photo Gallery: Further to the ongoing development of the new clubhouse facilities, the committee are looking at setting up of photo gallery of current and past Lorrha teams and Lorrha players who played with Tipperary over the years.
We ask that anyone who would have photos in their family photo albums relating to above would wish to share with the club. The club will make a copy of your submitted photo and return original to you. If you have any interesting photos no matter how old or new that you think may be of interest to the club please contact Rose Mannion or William Harding.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night in our newly extended function room to the music of Brendan Lee. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
