Lorrha GAA News for 9 July

Senior: The Draw for the first round of the county championship was made on Monday and Lorrha have been drawn with Cashel King Cormacs.

Junior: The Juniors are all but out of the championship after a 3-18 to 1-15 defeat to Kilruane on Sunday evening in Borrisokane. Three goals in quick succession in the first half where out undoing. We play Kildangan and Roscrea in our final two games.

Minor Hurling: The minors opened their championship campaign against Nenagh Éire Óg in Borrisokane last Thursday but lost out 5-20 to 1-10 to a very good Nenagh side. We have a bye this week and take on Roscrea on Thursday, 15 July.

U16: The Under 16’s began their championship against Kildangan in Moatfield on Monday. News next week. Next Monday they travel to Kilcolman to take on Burgess at 7.00pm

U14: The U14’s recorded their first win of the campaign with a 4-4 to 1-4 win over Kildangan in Moatfield last Wednesday. Tonight (Wednesday) Lorrha travelling to Ballina with Borris-Ileigh coming to Moatfield next Wednesday.

Premier 12’s: The U12 were beaten by Shannon Rovers last week. This Friday we play Borris-Ileigh. Check bord na nOg fixtures for venue details.

Munster Final: Best of luck to the Patrick Maher and the Tipperary senior hurlers in the Munster Final against Waterford this Sunday.

Well Done: to the Tipperary minor footballers on their Munster championship success.

Cúl Camp: The Lorrha Vhi Cul Camp will be held between 18-22 July. Prices are; €55 for first child; €45 for second and €35 for each subsequent child. Club contact is Louise Mannion 087-6598387 or Sean Mannion 087-9155676.

Super Camp: A Super Camp for 13-16 year olds, both boys and girls will be held in Dolla between 3-5 August. The cost of the camp is €40 but places are limited to 12 per club. Contact Louise Mannion 087-6598387.

Old Time Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Might Dynamos. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
