Senior: The seniors were defeated 2-16 to 0-16 by Toomevara in the first round of the County Senior Hurling Challenge Cup in Toomevara on Sunday. The concession of two first half goals was the difference. We now await the draw for round 2 when we will play one of the other defeated teams from last weekends round.
Under 21 Football: The U21 footballers earned a great 1-8 to1-5 win over Moneygall/Clonakenny in Moatfield on Saturday. Dylan Bouchier scored the Lorrha goal with the team responding to a late goal to kick the last three points. Lorrha now go into a semi-final playoff where they will play the losers of Ballina or Moneygall/Clonakenny on St Patrick’s weekend.
Inter-provincial: Well done to Patrick Maher who added an Inter-Provincial medal to his list of achievements, coming on as a sub for Munster in their final victory over Connacht in Ennis last Sunday.
Fitzgibbon Cup: Hard luck to Ciaran Haugh and the Waterford IT team who lost the Fitzgibbon Cup semi-final to Mary Immaculate College last Friday.
Easter Camp: Lorrha GAA Club will be hosting a Juvenile Easter Camp for between 3-5 April from 2-5pm each day. Cost of the camp is €20. To register, contact juvenile secretary Louise Mannion.
Tipperary GAA Clubs’ Quiz: An All County Table Quiz will be held in the Sports Hall, Moatfield on Friday, 15th March at 9pm sharp, with all proceeds going to the Tipperary County Board. Each GAA club in Tipperary will host the General Knowledge quiz that night with the questions being asked live on Tipp FM so all participants will have to be at their tables on time. Tables of 4 are €40.
The winning team from the club will progress to the County Final in Thurles on Thursday, 28th March with the overall County Champion winning a weekend for 4 people in New York (flights and accommodation included).
Membership: for 2013 is now due. Closing date of 31st March as it will count towards our Tipperary ticket allocation later in the year and will also be entered into a draw for 2 Stand Tickets to the All Ireland Hurling Final. Adult Player – €50; Non-Playing Adult – €30; Students & Minors – €20; Juveniles (16 & under) – €15; Family Membership (2 Adults & 2 Juveniles) – €80. Each additional child is €10 each. Membership is payable to Registrar Louise Mannion, Curraghagloss, or can also be paid online at myclubfinances.com.
Gym Membership: (All rates are inclusive of club membership rates above) Adult Players – €150 (€50+€100); Non-Playing member – €150 (€30+€120); Student – €100 (€20+€80); Family (2+2) – €200 (€80+€120); Non club member – €150. Tipperary Clubs Draw: We are asking all promoters to bring their monies up to date and forward them to draw coordinator Margaret Gleeson.
Sports Hall or Function Room: Thanks to Sean & Ber Mannion for their work in preparing the Function Room which fed the participants at the North Tipp Ploughing Championships, held on Andrew Dagg’s land last Sunday.

Circuit Training: for ladies continues in the Clubhouse every Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7-8pm, plus there is a special class for Men only on Wednesday’s from 6pm. For more information contact Noel Hogan 0876176472.
Gymnastics: continues every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-8pm and Saturdays from 11-2pm.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of the Declan Aungier. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Admission €8, refreshments served.
Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Mahon family, Lorrha, on the death of Aileen Mahon who died last week. May she rest in peace.
Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the O’Meara and McLoughney families on the death of Mary McLoughney, Ardcroney and to the O’Meara family, Portumna, on the death of Marie O’Meara who died recently.
